Trolls and Ice Giants maybe? How about Ulik and and Hyrm? Lotta big Thor characters, man.

One could also be Skurge....**** everyone in Thor is big. Loki, who's kind of a smaller asgardian is 6'3".

I just heard a rumor on the Thor boards that New-line is going to fast track Thor because of a strike! I don't have any links but can SOMEONE PLEASE find out if this is true or not, I gotta go to work.

Well I may be wrong but I thought it was Marvel Pictures doing this, not New Line. And I believe the target start date for the movie was December, mostly due to the impending strike.

I thought the same thing but this Strike MAY effect the movie being made.

I think they are going to have to find an unknown who they can make big enough because Thor is meant to be the strongest of the Asgardians and as such should look it.

There is no way Urban or McKidd could look that imposing.

I think McKidd could. Urban is too pretty though. I think he might make a decent Baldur though.

Christ, I saw Pathfinder and it was horrible. Forgive me for ever supporting Karl Urban for Thor. Maybe it was the script in Pathfinder, but Urban was really bad in it - as was everything else in that movie.

I think Karl Urban would be a great choice. He would definitely have to buff up for the role, but he fits the part than anybody else.

I don't blame Karl Urban for Pathfinder's failures, he's a great actor and he has a very Nordic appearance. I enjoyed his performance in Chronicles of Riddick and Lord of the Rings.

Never actually saw him act before but based on looks alone I think he's worth considering.

Matthew G. Taylor 6'6??? if he can act then we have a new champion here.:yay:

Yeah, I checked his profile on IMDB.com, and he does look like a good choise. I haven't seen him act either... exept in the Resident Evil: Apocalypse, where he played The Nemesis under heavy make-up - with no dialogue. That movie was a piece of crap..

Hey all! :)

Lets try Matthew G. Taylor :woot:

I remember him in Exit Wounds. Only a small part but he was certainly convincing enough in that role. Although we need to see him in some different roles.

Very interesting choice indeed.

I'd certainly say hes probably the best choice so far.

We don't know how old this guy is but he seems early 30's which is good.

The only thing I would question is whether or not hes good-looking enough for the role, but then again its going to be near impossible casting to get a 6'6" tall, muscled Brad Pitt-a-like with Russell Crowe's acting chops.

Jared Leto as Thor?

Again with the height. Even young Thor was tall (that is if that is the route that they are going for).

To bad bodybuilders can't act. Jay Cutler the current Mr. Olympia lookwise would be a good Thor. But unfortunately to my knowledge he has never acted.

Well, this movie will direct Matthew Vaughn and this guy really doesn't want any bodybuilder for Thor. And in comics almost every character is a bodybuilder! :whatever:

Jeezuz. ^^^^^^ I take it that remark was tongue in cheek but I'll bite:-

Adventures in Babysitting? 20 years ago?

C'mon - just because Vincent D'Onofrio had a cameo in a movie where he played a guy that 'slightly' resembled Thor (most folk wearing a long blond wig and holding a hammer will 'slightly' resemble Thor) - doesnt make it a viable suggestion.
