I'm a big Natalie Portman fan. I think she's a great actress, and was amazing in V for Vendetta.

I've seen quite a few places on the net where Natalie Portman has been suggested as Sif. I say no to that. I'm not a big fan of her acting. Plus, does anyone think she's attractive enough to play Sif?

She's very attractive....for fanboys. I personally am attracted to her a lot, but don't think she's attractive enough to play the norse goddess love of Thor. Plus she has no body whatsoever.

Sif should be like a 9/10. Amora 10/10.

I think Portman is attractive enough. But the comics portray Sif as a tough, swordfighting warrior-woman. And I don't get that vibe from Portman. Especially since she's tiny and would have to stand on a box much of the time if the rest of the cast ends up being somewhere around 6"2'.

Hey, if they can have a 6'3 Wolverine and a 5'7 Iron Man, why can't they have a petite Sif?

After Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston got cast, I don't think we'll see famous actors on the other main roles. But I think the supporting characters, like Odin, Volstagg, Frandal and etc (If they're in, off course) will have big names attached.

Nah.

And since the story is going to take place in Earth also, I believe we should stark looking for Jane Foster.

That is a great pick but i wonder if she couldn't do iron man why could she be able to do Thor but Thor does not shoot for awhile so her schedule might be open. She is English and is a great actress with a golden globe and is 26 only 1 year older than our Thor.

Yeah I don't know much about Emily but her resume definitely fits. And Rachel in green skin (in the Star Trek XI film) is still hot.

I don't think those characters were truly affected by change in height. Wolverine looked different from the comic version but he still looked badass and that's what important. Short Tony Stark still looked like a cocky, hedonistic playboy. A petite Sif in the middle of all those big, hairy viking-types might look out of place.

That's why I kind of liked that Missy Peregrym suggestion. She looks pretty, but something about her makes it possible for me to picture her drinking mead with loud, rowdy vikings and holding her own. Don't know enough about her acting skills, though. And this might be one of those roles that won't go to an unknown.

maybe it's because there's not really anything of Sif in between years.

Wouldn't she be closer to her full-grown, womanly self in the movie? I know they're casting young, but the movie's not supposed to be about Thor at Son of Asgard-age, is it?
