This cracks me up because Kevin's got the same face he had when he was 30.

I don't know why he let the greys grow out but without them he looks alot younger.

The greys are perfect for Ultimate Thor, so I'm diggin the do.

You think Butler's 300 physique is Thor quality???

Jeez, I oughtta post a picture of myself :woot:

I'm starting to sense most people want a tiny Thor that walks around in speedos all day.

Not me.

Im starting to think that you have never read a comic that had Thor that didnt start with the word Ultimate

I have.

I just prefer the menacing bearded viking from Ultimate Thor.

Erik Kramer was visual evidence of how the other Thor would turn out...

And Kramer was a pretty big man.

It's "Skarsgard" (he's the son of Stellan Skarsgard). Check out the "Generation Kill" clips on Youtube where he plays the squad leader.

I took the spelling from benitez's sig.

Ooops. :o Fixed.

Robert Downey Jr is a rugged, eccentric ex con.

Funny; that's the 1st time I've ever heard anyone describe Downey Jnr as 'rugged' :woot:

And we're not turning 170 pound 6 footers into 230 lb Superheroes over a course of 3 months either.

And yet Bale managed to gain 60lbs in the 2 months between the Machinist and Batman Begins.

It's not impossible.

And Alexander Skarsgard is 6'4" - a mere 2 inches shorter than Thor at 6'6"; a 2 inches which on camera next to guys like Downey (and potentially Norton) isnt gonna be noticeable.

In fact, If you wanna get technical, Kevin Nash is about 4 or maybe 5 inches too tall to play Thor. :oldrazz:

with every new suggestion or new BLONDE tall actor the casting comedy continues...."pulls out the popcorn and enjoys the show"

We as the fans should be very knowledgeable about THOR, the casting process, who seems like a shoe in and who could surprise us as the underdog casting....BUT....some of these choices are so far from what is actually right for the movie i truly wonder IF u want THOR to succeed....smh...

So far marvel has been on point with their castings and I believe they will continue to make wise decisions about their franchises....

BTW one t.v. show/mini-series does NOT i repeat does NOT put anyone in the front running for THOR, a MOVIE track record is 1st...NOT who's hot on a t.v. series....UNLESS u have a successful string on ALL the above (profitable movies, successful t.v. series, highly rated/award winning mini-series...etc.) If your suggestion does NOT fall into ALL three of these categories then your actor has a slim to no chance at all.... TRUST ME!!! (just trying to save some useless post) hint... hint.....

Y'know, this isn't the 1st time you've made a cryptic post like this one but no one has taken the bait.

I'll buck that trend - You seem to infer that you know something we dont and; Are you claiming that you have some inside knowledge or something?

Then maybe we all could just sit back, eat some popcorn and enjoy the comedy?

Please, by all means, enlighten us..................

Snikt, In terms of his build - I've no worries;Skarsgard can just load up on whey protein and creatine and get himself into a gym pronto.

In terms of Nash's acting outside of wrestling, apart from playing the Russian in 'the Punisher', I havent seen him in anything but, as one of the few people who have seen 'D.O.A'; I can at least confirm that Nash does do a very, very good Hulk Hogan; so much so that I'd be intrigued to know if Terry Bolea has actually seen it and what his thoughts are of it.

SB you know I want Alex for Cap but he would definitely own Thor which is why I thought you would get a kick out of his character synopsis for True blood that a friend sent me....enjoy

True Blood Recruits Skarsgard

Alexander Skarsgard has joined the cast of True Blood, Alan Ball's new vampire drama series for HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, based on the Southern Vampire book series by Charlaine Harris, centers on the love story between a vampire, Bill (Stephen Moyer), and Sookie (Anna Paquin), a waitress who can read people's minds.

Skarsgard will have a regular role on the series as a vampire and Viking who has been alive for more than a thousand years.

The actor recently wrapped the HBO miniseries Generation Kill, an intimate account of the invasion of Iraq from The Wire's David Simon and Ed Burns.

That's pretty cool.

'A Viking who has been alive for more than thousands of years'.

What a funny coincidence.

:D

Is this the same guy from Wimbledon we're talking about?

And yet Bale managed to gain 60lbs in the 2 months between the Machinist and Batman Begins.

It's not impossible.

You can't bring up Bale's Machinist to Batman weight gain because Bale came from a physically catabolyc state.

The body from the lack of protein in its regular diet, was fighting to add on weight.

I know people that have put on 20-30 lbs of solid mass in 6 weeks when coming from catabolyc states.

In the end Bale wasn't really big at all.

Sure, to the average viewer with no athletic background he looked "Built" but in reality he was under 200 lbs at a moderately lean body fat level (probably 10 or 11 % from the looks of him).

So yeah, if we're gonna create a muscle gaining regimen for Skarsgard, we'd be talking at least 1 year of weight lifting and a TON of Human Growth Hormone.

We also have to consider the fact that taller men have a much tougher time putting on muscle.

Butler and Bale aren't very tall, so its an easier process.

The biggest Skarsgard could get in time for THOR is Jackman's build in X2, which I find very lacking for the character.

If Skarsgard had McConaughey's build at 6'4", then he could pull it off in 9 to 10 weeks.

Bale's 6'2" isn't he? I thought that qualified as tall

Snickt, If you gave him HGH, no way would he need a year.

Hell, you could give him Dianabol or Deca and he'd only need about 4 months tops.

Back in 1997, I went from 14 and a half stone to 17 in just 4 months on a simple course of dianabol; and I'm a naturally lean 6'3" (most of it wasnt just water retention either - just pretty damn good solid muscle; when I came off the course - I lost very little in muscle tone and size)

Its definitely possible, but let's talk about expectations.

I'd be happy if he ended up 250-260 at REALLY low body fat.

Yeah, I doubt Bale is 6'2".

He's pushing around the 6' mark, I'd say.

Well, they do say the camera adds 10 lbs.

Get a few dozen cameras on Alexander and we're golden. :cwink:

Or they could just pull a Rodrigo Santoro/Xerxes on him :cwink:

*Jackman's definitely got 3 inches on Bale...

Bale's a rounded 6 ft.

I want somebody with Dolph Lundgren's build playing Thor. let's here some specs on him.

Hugh's quiff is at least 2" tall there though. :D

He's pulling out all the stops to win the height battle.

A few years ago I made a post about Dolph circa 1987 being the perfect Thor.

I'll try to find it as I seem to remember that I included some pretty damn impressive example pic.

Or at least he was 5'5", Ronny.

Jackman nailed everything but the one thing he couldnt change;

He couldnt make himself shorter.
