Actually Mane has the look of Crusher Creel. He'd be a great aborbing man, to bad the Hulk franchise has him.

Doesnt matter whether Urban can bulk up for Thor or not - I'm sure that he could - the main factor is that he's got the wrong type of face for Thor.

The actor who plays Thor needs to be chiseled and have cheekbones that can cut glass.

Anyone care to wager that any weight gain that Urban would make wouldnt also go onto his face?

Jason Lewis for Thor!

Yeah - Lewis for Thor.........

........................and MM for Cap. ;)

:D

Oh well, f@ck it. I'm fine with Lewis as Thor or Cap. But not McConaughey as Cap.

Thor actor is harder to found (because of physical requirement) yet acting him is easier.

On the other hand, Cap actor is easier to found but acting him is harder. Cap needs to wear that uncomfortable all-encompassing costume and he should command presence in his movie and perhaps the Avengers.

So, Jason Lewis is great find for Thor.

Cap can be found in anyone with great acting ability and 6 ft height, regardless if he's black, brunette or blond.

Go see Karl Urban in PATHFINDER. After watching that crappy movie, you don't want him in THOR.

Ah right; gotcha.

I simply mis-interpreted your post.

Loki - Vincent Cassell (Has a mischeivious quality - perfect for Loki)

loki.gif

Odin - Brian Blessed (C'mon - I mean, just look at him - that and he has that booming voice)

odin.jpg

Balder - Dylan McDermott (Is able to project an air of honourability - just like 'Brave' Balder)

Echantress - Sienna Miller (Gorgeous but a bit wild - see 'Alfie' for reference)

enchantress1.jpg

Fendrall - Ethan Hawke (Obviously, Erroll Flynn or Cary Elwes in 'The Princess Bride' woulda been perfect - Hawkes' is the next best thing for 'Dashing' Fendral)

Hogun - Jason Patrick (Again, like above, Charles Bronson woulda been a mean Hogun but Patrick just fits the bill - perfect to play 'Grim' Hogun because everytime I see Patrick in a movie he seems goddamn morose)

Absolutely stumped on Sif and Falstaff though.............

Sif, is easy for me,

Kritanna Loken, she's not only played a Viking Queen and handled a sword, she looks like Sif to me, just dye her hair black.

I'll give you credit for making a list, but I think you have what is probably the worst list I have ever seen. There's nothing appealing about it. The only thing that looks like great casting is Vincent Cassell as Loki. It looks like you're basing your list on looks alone. Your choices are pretty out of date with today's stars. Jason Patric? Dylan McDermott? Brian Blessed?

Sorry. You're not going to put people in the seats with those names.

I do give you credit for trying though. Keep trying.

Not a bad list. I like Ethan Hawke and Brian Blessed is such a funny and underused actor. And Sienna Miller as the Enchantress isn't half bad either.
For Falstaff, did you mean Volstagg?
I'm throwing you some names.
Abraham Benrubi (E.R.)
Shuler Hensley (The Frankestein in Van Helsing, a musical actor friend of Hugh Jackman)
Jorge Garcia (Hurley in Lost)
Will Sasso ( Carl Monari in "Less than perfect")

And if it's a problem of Vincent Cassel trying to lose his French accent for LOKI, then you can get Cassel look-a-like and good actor as well - Richard Coyle, star of UK's COUPLING and the villain in A GOOD YEAR. He can act funny and he can act viscious, good enough to play Lokie:

'I do give you credit for trying though. Keep trying'? Lolz. You sound like a comicbook professional looking through some kid's portfolio or something. What, are you a casting agent or something? If so, please give me the benefit of your professional wisdom and present your own list, aside from Karl Urban as Thor (whom you've suggested ad nausiem) - I'm sure it will be nothing short of inspired. :whatever:

The worst list you've ever seen? I find that a little bit harsh considering some of the tripe i've seen over the years on the hype, and more than a tad insulting.................oh, and for the record - you say there's nothing appealing about it and then contradict that comment by saying Cassell looks like great casting (?) so I guess my list isn't the complete washout that you claim it is.

As for the basing the casting on looks alone thing; sure, looks play a huge part but you'll see that I also did give (admittedly) a very brief reason for their casting. You may think the choices out of date but to me all of those actors are still working and that makes them viable candidates for casting in my book.

They don't necessarily have to be 'stars' as you put it either - I'm opting for character actors more than stars. You think Zach Snyder worries about the lack of stars in his casting for Watchmen? No, because he has faith in the appeal of the characters, story, visuals and fan-base. That's what he believes will 'put people in the seats'.

For me, it's just the same with Thor.

Yeah - Blessed just needs to be in movies more - the guys an icon; truly a cult figure.

I did mean Volstagg - I have to admit that I'm not up on Benrubi or Sasso but out of Hensley and Garcia - I'd have to plump for Hensley.
