I've always been curious. How do fanboys feel about Daniel Craig as Thor?

He'd need to Beef up a bit even tho he does have a good build.

...That's actually not a bad idea. Thor would take quite a height drop but Brad Pitt would make for a fantastic Thor. If not Captain America then definately Thor. Plus I doubt we're going to have every actor be 6'6 or so (Loki's one of the shorter Asgardians and he's 6'2) so might as well cast regular sized guys and make them all look megahuge in comparison to everything else around them (or at least everything on earth/midgard).

Agreed but Brad Pitt's acting isn't very good, but he does look a hell lot like Thor especially in Troy:

I think his acting is terrific when he's playing modern characters but when it comes to guys like Achilles he leaves a bit to be desired. Thor is a similar character (well that olde english speaking style anyway) so if Pitt were to get the role, I'd hope he'd step his game up.

nah, definetely Brad as Cap. Its a perfect fit.

As for craig...

Brad Pitt might be too old now... of course they can make him look younger. But I can't see him putting on lot of muscle. He was very toned in Troy, but don't think he'd go further then that. And he was pretty bad in Troy...

Daniel Craig? Please, the man is new Bond and too old/doesn't strike (me atleast) as Thor. I don't understand how anyone could look at Craig and say "that's Thor right there!"

Now I'm perfectly okay if Craig casted as Thor as this is not about Captain America.

But one thing you shouldn't overlook, Craig is 5'10". Even McKidd is 6 feet tall. This is Thor where nationality of the actor is no concern, but his physical appearance is.

Well yeah, the hight is important. AND they are looking for someone in his 20's, so suggesting Craig or even Pitt might be kinda pointless...

Pitt is pointless because he's a big drama star and the only way he agrees to star in a comics movie is if he's a big comic reader (the way RDJ and Ed Norton are).

Height-wise Pitt is okay although not ideal.

I'm thinking that they will have a Younger Thor in the movie, but, I don't really think the movie's going to be a Son of Asgard type film.
They might have a young Thor and an older Thor.

If you read a script review on IESB you must know that he WILL be young!!! :oldrazz:

I don't consider 20's that Young. Sure it's young but not as young as Son of Asgard was.
I want to read some of the actual Script or at least have alittle more than what is in that review.

TO OLD ???????? :wow: not only he is not to old, he looks much younger for his age.

Ahhah, okay I take that back, he does look young enough. But imo he wouldn't be very convincing as Thor. He's acting as Achilles in Troy wasn't the best he's ever done and that role might be closest to what Thor might be on film.

Triple H is perfect for Thor, right build, height, handsome, great actor, and he'd kick ass throughout the movie

Sam Heughan is an another actor who, like Cavill, screen tested for the role of Superman and could be a not so bad Thor.
He's 6ft2.

F**k Triple H!

:)
Co-Sign. If Triple H is Thor I will not see this movie. Everyone will say its just a wrestler Triple H movie and not a Thor movie. Its like having Hulk Hogan star in the Lord of the Rings.

Triple H has the perfect look for Thor, BUT could he act the part? It's easy to say NO. But if you think about it, They could get a much better actor to play Thor but how many of the "better" actors out there could pull off the look? As much as i want the acting substance to be there, I also want the visual to be there as well. Maybe Triple H could pull it off with ALOT of effort.
So, what do you think?

No ...and I'm a fan of Triple H.

No, let me stop you right there. He doesn't. Hes not good looking enough, and his age is also questionable.

However, that said, getting the perfect actor for Thor must be a pain in the butt for the casting director.

I mean you need to have the physical presence.

You need to have the acting chops.

You basically need to be as handsome as Brad Pitt.

BUT could he act the part?

Possibly.

Theres no way hes right for the part, and his inclusion would scream pure action movie with no depth. I mean I am just wincing thinking about any sort of romantic interplay (not that such a thing is the core of the movie, but it should be some small part of it).

That said, I'd take Triple H over Kevin McKidd in the role ANY day of the week.

They'd be better going with a young unknown actor and then stacking the supporting cast with top talent.
