This is an old article. The newest news said Thor is in a waiting pattern aka development hell.

Yes, but there´s no new article talking about changing the script from scratch or using Donald Blake or Earth in modern times. So, when it comes to story, that article is still valid.

Yeah. I Think they did that to get out ot the ''Lord of the Rings'' movie style. The last examples of it weren't very happy in the box office, like ''Beowuld''.

According to LOP (lords of pain), HHH is in the running to be Thor in the Marvel adaptation of Thor...
Let's consider these issues;
1. Marvel is now producing their movies in-house, meaning they don't have to bow to any production company's wishes on casting. They have already proven if they want to go with an actor, they are going to go with the one that they feel best represents the character. They were lambasted for their choice of RDJ for Tony Stark, but I think we can all agree that has been one of the best casting decisions in recent years.
2. LeVesque (HHH) played a blueblood, arrogant, stuck-up character in his initial turn in WWE. Would that not translate well for an god?
3. I don't think your going to find any other person who is going to be a closer visual match for the character. Please take not of the emphasis on the visual aspect, not LeVesque's acting ability. I think we can all agree that no-one out there right now looks more like Thor than LeVesque.
I am not on either side, other than the physicality of Levesque.
whadayathink?

Yeah okay... check your sources carefully next time before you post **** like this.

If he is in the running, then I wouldn't happy should they choose him.

Read carefully. I said "According to LOP", not that it was a fact. They get a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff from the world of pro wrestling.
How 'bout that?

If Sean Bean was younger, he'd be perfect choice for Thor (his Boromir was outstanding). Of all the choices offered, I think Gerald Butler is probably the better choice, although there may be other unknown actors who will get the job done (like Jackman did for Wolverine).

I don’t think Gerard Butler can handle Thor. I wasn't a fan of his Leonidas.

I just don't see Butler in the role at all. Not from a skill standpoint, but he's just wrong for the role, imo.

I have not seen Gerard Butler in a single role where his accent didn't bug the crap out of me.

This man!!! He's the only one mentioned that i can actually visualize as the part, plus he won't look like an amateur with guys like Downey Jr. and Norton
ask Kevin Mckidd again
seriously look at this face and imagine it in the Thor helmet, its perfect

plus listen to his voice, its exactly how Thor should sound IMO, although adding a norse accent would be cool too

Mckidd in a crazy gladiator fight (warning extremly gory)

just use some tricks for the height and give him time to bulk up, should do the 300 work out plan

It doesn't take a smart person to realize that there is no way Marvel is tossing a name like Triple H or Tyler Mane around unless it was a round table joke that got out... just based on their previous casting decisions. The report is crap and you didn't need to start a new thread about it... which was why it was merged in the first place.

Well it is now down to Kevin McKidd and Triple H . There could be some type of announcement in the next couple months. Triple H has been approached , I dindt even know who McKidd was until tonight . I would like to see Kevin McKidd get the part.

My choice for if they go with a famous actor would be Gerard Butler.

If they're willing to go with relative unknowns, I'd like either Kevin McKidd or this guy, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (he's Danish) who I posted in the other Thor thread:

Yeah, I jumped the gun about making a new thread, and I will take whatever spanking I have coming over it, but the simple fact is it looks like it has come down to Kidd and LeVesque. I dont' know why you are including Mane's name in the bunch.
Again, from strictly a visual standpoint, you're not going to find anyone closer than LeVesque.
I'm not for it one way or the other, but my original point is Marvel is going with some casting decisions that have perplexed us at first. No one say RDJ or Norton in their respective roles, but they got them, and evidently are nailing their characters...
I will give you that LeVesque sucked in B:T, but, when all the emoting you will need to do for a role is to sit around, look arrogant, and occasionally go into a rage, I'd say he could do it.
Again, I'm not pro or anit LeVesque, I'm just saying the info is starting to get out...

Wow... I think I need to download Rome... never got around to watching it as of yet.

Nothing against Triple H, ive seen him throughout his career. But id rather see Mckidd be thor.

Are Marvel trying to one up themselves by casting an even bigger name than Robert Downey Jr ("Iron Man") for their next super-jaunt?
Sounds like it.
According to Latino Review, Brad Pitt is the favourite to play the Thunder God "Thor" in the upcoming superhero flick of the same name.
Look, I don't mind this, and I don't doubt Pitt could do it (he's a damn good actor), but they might just want to go a tad bit younger for this one. Pitt circa 1990, with that clean skin and long mane of hair, could've done it - but the Pitt of 2008? I don't know (maybe I need to watch "Troy" again?). Still, I don't doubt the authencity of the rumour - after all, Downey Jr played Iron Man, and Edward Norton's playing the Hulk; they're obviously going for big guns.

The age shouldn't matter. Thor won't get a trilogy. Only his solo movie and Avengers so its fine with me. I wouldn't mind Mckidd getting it either. HHH? He does have the Thor look but........I just can't see him doing it. Why does everyone keep saying its going to ALL be in Asgard? Part of it will be on Earth becuase he's going to be approached by Fury as well. Maybe he's banished to Earth in the last 20 minutes or something but how would Fury know about him?

If Mads Mikkelsen or Trond Espen Seim would gain 50 pounds or so they would work perfectly.
