Given that neither JMS nor Coipel are involved, I think it's a safe bet. ;)

I'd be more concerned about the two JMS issues finishing his run that are both supposed to come out on September 30th.

Issue # 603 is still shown for 9/30; however, Defining Moments is now shown as 10/28 . This will most likely move 604 later in November (from 11/4).

Ah, when will that crossover start or has it already?
Thor/Herc? It already started back in Incredible Hercules #132 and runs through #134, which came out this week, and #136. The odd numbers follow Amadeus Cho on his own adventure.
TheCorpulent1, where's your avatar pic from?
I don't know, I just found it online.

THOR #605
Written by KIERON GILLEN
Pencils & Cover by BILLY TAN

The invisible hand of Loki's sly tricks has made plain the treachery that lay in store…and after the devastating events of THOR: DEFINING MOMENTS GIANT-SIZE and THOR 604, everything comes to a head! The volatile balance of power in Latveria is tipped, and all sides march toward all-out war!

32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Hopefully Doom is back to his old self. The pathetic version of Doom we got in DA a while back made me sad. Letting Osborn into his armor...Doom would never!

I believe there is a new event called The Siege which is about to start soon. Is this the Siege of Asgard event that was mentioned a few months ago when JMS announced he was leaving?

Possibly. Loki and Doom seem to be a big part of it, at least. It's just starting up in December though, so we've only seen solicits of the very beginning of it. Whether it develops into a siege of Asgard (or Latveria and its Asgardians, since Asgard is empty) remains to be seen. But it seems a bit too coincidental for an event called "The Siege" to be starting up just after JMS leaves Thor because he doesn't want to participate in an event called "The Siege of Asgard."

Probably via this Siege event and (hopefully) his comic getting back on a proper schedule. Marvel seems to be pushing all the mythological heroes: Hercules has the Siege of New Olympus mini-event coming up, Ares has a new mini-series and is playing heavily into the current arcs in Dark Avengers and Secret Warriors, etc.

I got a comic reading friend of mine trying to tell me Thor is stupid and not a good character. I gave a few of my JMS Thor issues to read and said he fell asleep. The only one he liked was when Thor kicked Iron Man's ass.

What should I tell him to read to change his mind and show him the awesomeness of Thor? I wanted to give him the Avengers vs Ulton "We would have words with thee" but I forgot where that is. help.

There's nothing you can do. Some people are ******ed.

I know a guy who seems to downright hate Thor for no good reason. Nevermind that he's never read a single Thor comic and his only experience with him is the Ultimate Avengers cartoons and Ultimate Alliance.

He has this real WWE mentality to characters and is huge on Hulk and Juggernaut simply because of their powers, not because he actually likes their characters. Its... frustrating.

*Sigh.

So yeah, I would just learn to accept it and not try. He's not suddenly going to see one cool thing from Thor and turn into a huge fan of the character.

But in any case, what you were referring to was Ultron Unlimited. I forgot the exact issues but you should be able to plug that into google and get an answer.

I agree with Upset Spideyfan. Some people are just set in their ways and are not willing to give characters a fair shot. If he fell asleep reading JMS' Thor, which seems to have garnered more new fans for Thor than anything other than the Simonson comics back in the day, he seems like a lost cause.

Has this dude given you any specific reason he hates Thor so much? I'm betting it's some combination of "he's not that powerful because he needs his hammer" and "he talks dumb."

This person I am referring to is a huge Hulk nut and was upset that he couldn't lift Thor's hammer in Hulk vs. but was happy when he did in Ultimate Avengers. Curse that cartoon. :cmad:

No. "He's lame because Loki is his arch villian." and "Norse mythology is retarted."

Yep. Total lost cause. If he's going to make a blanket statement like "Norse mythology is stupid," this dude wants to not like Thor.

I'm not gonna so on a crusade or anything, I just wanted to show him something cool that Thor did.

Well, the go-to run for impressive, fun Thor stuff is usually Simonson's, but even that would have no effect on this guy because Simonson's run is deeply rooted in mythology.

Maybe you could switch gears and get him into Herc. Herc's a bit more low-brow, his main thing right now is comedy, which is universal, and Greek myths seem to be more accepted in general than Norse myths. Once he enjoys Herc, he might be a bit more receptive to Thor.

Although that starts wandering into crusade territory a bit.

"I'm going to start you on a four-step program! First we'll start with Ares because he's "WOLVERINE AND A THOR" :whatever: and then we'll graduate you to Hercules for a bit. Then some team-ups with Thor and then BAM ALL-OUT Thor on Asgard action!"

But again a lot of these people are tools. The guy I mentioned earlier HATED Iron Man as well, so much so that he became visibly hostile when I tried to show him the Iron Man trailer. He ended up liking the movie and is reading some of the comics.... So yeah, a lot of these people that have no conceivable reason for hating the character... Tools.

Oh what the heck.

:awesome:

I say stop being his friend. And kick him in the nuts every time you see him.
