What do you guys think about a commercial for SaveSuperman.com and Welling to suit up being played during a Smallville episode??

I'm thinking of asking people to send in short video clips of themselves asking Welling to do it and WB to do the right thing period. Then editing everything into a commercial and buying time during an episode. Any thoughts??

Anyone reasonable fan of the show....please don't fall for one of Steve's ploys again.......this is hat, half full of #@$!......ignore this guy, he's just talking b.s. SHOULD the time come for Welling, it will be promoted properly, not by some self-indulgent moron who wants to try and rip people off....



Want to have a thought, Hey Steve, What happened to all that money Smallville/Welling fans sent you back in the summer? Did that make the slightest dent in the can? Big surprise to see you back with hand out asking for more......what a real piece of work.

Paying for a commercial is actually a pretty damn good idea, IMO.

Now if this guy is not legit (which Pickle seems to believe so), thats one thing - but that doesn't mean the idea is bad completely.

The commercial time buys should focus on LA and New York - don't bother trying to hit the entire country.

Norman's right. There's a vast majority of people who watch Smallville who don't regular boards or buy magazines. Who would likely love to try and propel Welling into the movies. A commercial is a great idea.

However, if people are giving money, it should be to someone credible who knows how to get something like this done. I don't know this steve fellow. I don't know if he has the ability to go through the proper channels to get airtime....

The proper channels are not hard to do - anyone with the phone number of the network can do it. During the election I was in charge of air time buys for the consulting firm I am with, its really easier than one would think. Also with the CW not being "prime real estate" it wouldn't be a very expensive buy.

nope, not in a long time. at one time that site was a great idea hatched in these here forums, but it's since lost its way, and the cart they tied their wagon to went over a cliff.

There's still some really awesome people who post there. It's just not a very...comfortable place for SV fans, even though there are some good SV fans who do post there. (sorry Ganc )

"inexpensive" being a relative term. I work for a Cable TV company and one of my job functions is reviewing and signing off on the media buying/selling contracts. Sure time on the CW is a heck of a lot cheaper than it would be on CBS, but for an individual or even a group of individuals (for arguments sake, say 100 people), it would still be prohibitively expensive. To get something on during a Thurs Night airing of a first run episode of Smallville even for 30 seconds would cost in the tens of thousands of dollars.
