Yeah, no one is touching Aldo at 145. Plus, aren't the weight cuts getting worse for Aldo? I agree and he should definitely move up, if not after this fight, then by next year.

155 is a whole different ballgame. I think Aldo would only move up if he got an immediate title shot. His management was trying to maneuver him into a fight with Edgar at lightweight, that didn't work out.

he is currently 14-1-1 in last 16 fights and his last loss was very controversial

It doesn't matter. Sonnen was still busted. I mean, if Dana feels so strongly about those who use roids, then I figure he'd cut any "f**king idiot" who got caught cheating.

You can't just go half way. It's hypocrisy.

Furthermore, Sonnen was busted immediately after the title bout with Silva. What's the difference?

If Poirier wins he's 5-0 in the UFC and 6-1 under ZUFFA. He'd be 13-1-1 overall with his only career loss being to a lightweight is now 4-1 in the UFC and 9-4 under ZUFFA.

So the moral of the story is it's okay to cheat but only if you get caught AFTER you've made your boss cash. Hmmmm. Then the UFC is no different than the WWE and the current state of Boxing.

Last time I checked, Overeem still hasn't been fired yet. They will give him another chance.

Sylvia got caught using steroids and they didn't fire them either. It's all about how you handle it after. If you come clean and apologize, ZUFFA will forgive you and work with you again.

Barnett got caught juicing and said it was a conspiracy and denied it. Even after the incident for the Fedor fight, he still denied it.

Dana is a politician, whatever benefits his business that's all that matters... Plus Overeem isn't one of his boys, before Overeem was with ufc Dana said he isn't even a top 10 heavyweight. If this was $GSP$ all this would be swept under the rug.

Also GSP has never failed a drug test. Also he's always a complete professional.

^^ I'm using GSP as an example if he was in this situation... Overeem is suspended for 9 months, I think that will be the main excuse if he does get rid of him. Why keep someone around if they aren't working for you and you've never liked them in the first place.

I think it'd be a bad mistake on Dana's part to cut Overeem. Sure, he cost the UFC money and his name is in the gutter now, but the heavyweight division is already 'light' on contenders.

Not true Mace. Thiago Silva got caught and then suspended for an entire year, and Dana still didn't cut him.

It's not that Dana didn't like Overeem at all. Alistair and Dana have been seen together at UFC events on more than two occasions (and who knows what they've done together outside the arena and/or after the events).

Like you said, White is a politician. Surely, he would never hype a fighter from a rival company. Remember his rants regarding Fedor? 90% of the MMA community would laugh at his statements.

I doubt Dana would cut Overeem right now. There's still money to be made. It's hard to tell how much popularity he's gotten from beating Brock, plus he doesn't have a good case for cutting a guy who has only failed once. He's probably just talking **** to motivate Overeem or scare him. Dana does **** like that.

improves his record to 25-4-2 and 22-1-2 in last 25 fights

he just said in post fight interview he is trying to come to the UFC Now

UFC tried signing him acouple years back but he he turned them down now it looks like he is ready
