He messed up bad but he will come back for this. Luckily no one was hurt. Of course vultures like you make pathetic statements like this. Finally! Hopefully that stupid smug 'holier than thou/zen-master' **** will stop now. It's beyond irritating to listen to him talk.

FINALLY! Like you were waiting him to show up and rape a woman or something. Absolutely disgusting.

So the Strikeforce Heavyweight Division has been absorbed into the UFC?
I'm sorry, but he brought this upon himself. Jones presents himself as this 'person' who can't do wrong. All I'm hoping is that he finally stops with the fake persona cuz no one is falling for it anymore.
Now please, save it for someone who cares VileOne. Your comments regarding Rampage truly indicate to me that you were jumping for glee when he got busted for a similar incident a few years back.
Disgusting, is it not?![]()
Nope. I wasn't jumping for glee at all. I remember seeing those photos of Rampage being arrested at gun point by police from his monster truck. I'm a fan of Rampage and I was really disappointed by what happened just as I'm disappointed by his current behavior now. Just as I'm disappointed by Jones if this is true. He likely ****ed up big time. So I hope this is the first and last time this happens for Jones.
As for his persona, every superstar athlete has one. Muhammed Ali isn't his real name remember. He was born Cassius Clay. Muhammed Ali manufactured his own persona after he was inspired by characters in pro wrestling like Gorgeous George. Are you going to insult Michael Jordan because his public squeaky clean image was fake as well? Because it was. I'm not saying Jordan is a bad guy, but Jordan's public image was also manufactured.
Anderson Silva publicly calls himself a metrosexual, does goofy **** with Steven Segal and claims Steven Segal is teaching him how to finish fights and shows up to dance at Justin Bieber concepts. Chael Sonnen acts like a raving lunatic. While I'm sure there are kernels of truth to all that, all of that is performing and those guys playing themselves up to the camera and manufacturing a persona. To me Jones regardless of his persona is still one of the best fighters of the planet. Do I believe Jones is this perfect virtuous family man who is completely faithful to his wife? I dunno. I hope that's true but I think we all know these superstar athletes are on the road constantly throwing themselves at them. Suddenly these guys have money and all these hot women want to be around them, of course young men will have trouble dealing with that and not letting it get to their heads.
What happened with Rampage hardly had me celebrated. It was a terrible incident for Rampage and the sport. Unfortunately, I don't think Rampage has matured at all from the incident. It's also not like Rampage's lack of dedication to training and the sport is some secret.
Look, I respect Jones as a fighter and I realize he is human (flawed by nature), so I expect him to make mistakes -- I don't hold anyone that highly. Yes, I do dislike the man quite a bit but I don't hate him. The only reason why I (and many others) target him at times is because of his persona. It radiates of smugness (refusing to sign a toy title, for instance, is just not gonna win over any new fans). I tend to be overly critical with fighters who convey themselves in such a manner, so when they fall face first onto the cement I really let them have it. And make no mistake, as a huge fan of Rampage, I know I did.
The size of the their own egos sometimes gets in the way of common sense. I can accept that, but if they refuse to grow from the humbling experiences then I can't. Hopefully, Jon will take this incident on the chin and move on, and mature from it. He's a role model nowadays and he can't afford to be pulling stunts like drinking and driving. With that said, I attribute Jon's mistakes to youthful idiocy. It happens to almost every young champion.
I don't think that thing about the toy title is true. I've heard stories from friends on how Jon Jones would stay forever to sign an item for everybody in a crowd at a press event or things like that. I think that like many other things fighters do and say is just schtick for the cameras. Just like Chael Sonnen saying nonsense like when he tapped out in the last round against Silva he thought that meant he lost the round and not the fight under the rules.
I'm not saying this is wrong. But I'm saying, people who are crucifying Jon Jones were just eagerly awaiting something like this to happen so they could hold it against him and get their lynch mob torches and pitchforks ready. I agree he can't afford to be doing things like that but the fact is these things still happen. It sucks but its human nature. Dana White understands that people will make mistakes its simply about how they handle it after that is important. So hopefully this is a wake up call for Jones and he stays away from these vices from now on. I hope this because Jones is such a great athlete and fighter and he's got such a huge and promising future, he owes it just to himself not to needlessly endanger himself in this way.
Now I'm not saying Jones should never go out at night and have fun. But I think now he's at a point where if he's going to be drinking he can probably get a limo driver for the night. He could probably afford it easily.
In Las Vegas now for fight week. Pretty pumped.
