See that's what I had read however I assumed from the post I read from E-Man that it was something caused by a front kick to the knee. :O

At the time I didn't know what blew out his knee, but a lot of people around the net were like, "OMG that's what he gets for kicking Bigfoot's knee!:cmad:" The usual Greg Jackson hatred popped up and made me a bit more excited for Jon Jones' next fight. When Jones fights I'm thrilled. Not only do I get to see a legend in the making, but the way people cry after his fights is hilarious to me in a sinister fashion.

Rumor has it Strikeforce on November 3 is cancelled and the promotion is finally over.

So . . . Daniel Cormier, Nate Marquardt, Luke Rockhold, Gilbert Melendez, and Ronda Rousey to the UFC?

Hey they made it past June!

yea watching insidemma they started the show talking about it. showtime is considering not showing strikeforce anymore.

Finally we can see Gil vs. the lightweights in the UFC. Don't know how they'll get the women in there since all female divisions are thin as hell, but Cormier and Gil in the UFC is good to me.

“@arielhelwani: Re: the Strikeforce rumors, according to a Showtime official in the know, as of tonight, 11/3 and beyond is a go for them. …”

From Ariel Helwani. Take it for what it's worth. Could be damage control by Showtime, but we'll see.

Ahh.. I misunderstood.

I don't like Greg Jackson however that has nothing to do with my dislike for the kick, mine is more based on the fact I think it's overly dangerous & quite a dirty tactic.

I've seen Anderson Silva use the technique before however, from memory anyway, I can never remember him kicking someones knee in the manner Jones does ie at a straight angle. I've seen him sidefoot the side of guys knees/thigh which I'd see as no less dangerous then a shin to knee as the leg actually has abit of give in that direction.

My opinion on it is if your gonna allow that & use the excuse it can be avoided, then I feel they need to re-evaluate the rules on things like 12 to 6 elbows, foot stomps, soccer kicks, strikes to the back of the head among other things as all of those have ways they can be avoided also.

Forrest Gives Bonnar Some Advice:oldrazz:

:funny:

It would be pretty funny if Bonnar managed to beat Silva simply because he has been written off so highly. Bonnar is a tough guy though & will have a good size advantage over Silva so who knows, anything can happen in MMA.. I seriously doubt it will, but I might have a cheeky £10 on Bonnar to win. :oldrazz:

Bonnar's never lost by KO or submission so he has a credible chance.

You said they wouldn't make it past June though and they did.

By the skin of their teeth.

There were troubling signs in May, so I wasn't exactly wrong. For example, Zuffa singlehandedly destroyed the Heavyweight Grand Prix by stripping Strikeforce of Alistair Overeem. That sort of was a big deal. Not to mention, The UFC also picked up Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva and Shane Del Rosario during that time.

I mean, come on. The UFC has absorbed The WEC and Pride FC. Strikeforce was never going to stay open for long.

Strikeforce is fine and will be going ahead with it's next show.

I didn't know the Silva/Bonnar fight is at 205... I like Bonnar's chances even more.

Looks that way now Rodhulk. However Daniel Cormier STILL has no opponent.

Inside MMA's source was internet message boards :p .

Well they are still open for now.

As of now the 11/3 show is still on per ZUFFA.

I'm loving the odds. Bonnar is definitely worth a look, especially in a three round fight. Silva can't wrestle at all, Bonnar has endured some hellish beatings, and he'll have thirty pounds on Silva.

look at silva/sonnen II Silva/Okami II and Silva/Hendo all 3 great powerful wrestlers didn't make it past 2 rounds:cwink:

Dan Henderson was outwrestled by the likes of Misaki and Jake Shields. But a lot of that, along with getting choked out by Silva, had to do with him being in horrible shape.

I'm not saying Bonnar is going to win, but those odds make him a good bet. If it's anything that Sonnen, Henderson, Lutter, and even Sakurai have shown, it's that if Silva's on his back, he doesn't get back to his feet. The exceptions to this, if memory serves, are Marquadt and Leites, but those guys were playing a more loose top game to set up catches.

I could see Bonnar absorbing damage to close the distance and then he just needs two takedowns. That doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility to me. Simply put, the amount of money being put on Silva makes Bonnar worth a look. Generally, he's sitting +700, that's a good risk.

^okami is a superior wrestler than bonnar hell old man coleman outwrestled bonnar and silva stuffed all of okami's shots

So 11/3 Strikeforce is now officially cancelled. However Strikeforce says they will have an event on January 23.

Because Okami was timid to engage. I could have defended his shot from half way across the cage. Bonnar is more durable than Okami, I think he can walk through some damage and get inside.

Of course he was outwrestled by Coleman. That's a totally different fight.

Again, I'm not picking Bonnar, but you'd be crazy not to consider putting some money on him with those odds.

I wouldn't bet the house on Bonnar with those odds but maybe some pocket change you don't mind missing.

this isn't jon jones or gsp where you can hope for a guy to touch his chin

silva has an iron chin
ko power
best striking in all of mma
phenomenal ground game especially off his back

the man has beaten every style ther is to beat bjj black belts, Olympic level wrestlers, solid strikers

only 1 man put silva in trouble and he needed to be full of steroids to do it

i think after 15 fights now you cant just hope to be tough

chris leben is tough as nails too
