Yeah....this officially isn't the UFC's year. HAHA! News sucks though.

Aldo's injury is a result of his motorcycle accident. Aldo is an idiot.

You'd think he would've learned from Big Ben, Kellen Winslow Jr and most recently Paul Williams.

Anywho, if I were The UFC, I'd just close up shop for the rest of the year. :funny: This is just blows.

Or hey even Frank Mir. I remember Frank Mir recently saying his wife would never let him get on a motorcycle again.

Anyway got about half an hour with Tito Ortiz today. He was extremely super cool and nice and it was a great experience. I really appreciated he called me personally which always makes things easier.

This Anderson vs. Bonnar fight makes good sense on a month's notice. Injuries threatening yet another card, only one month to prep and cut weight, and another event that's supposed to be big in Brazil. Looks like Anderson and Bonnar are doing the UFC a big favor by stepping up to headline. It'll be like Forrest all over again with the Matrix. lol

Glover Teixeira now fights Fabio Maldonado.

Nogueira now returns to face Dave Herman.

I mean it's sort of a B card but not so bad especially for the Brazilian crowd. I mean I think Nogueira/Herman is a decent heavyweight fight all things considered.

Got to give Silva credit here for stepping in on short notice to fight above a weight class even if it's Stephan Bonnar. When Silva offered to come in at UFC 151 I sort of thought he was trolling Dana and the UFC but I think that says a lot that he's doing this.

More like Bonnar should be +9000!!!!!!

Oooooh burn. Good one Dana. :whatever:

Hey, it's true. I don't recall Wuss Jones complaining about Zuffa and Dana when he got the hook up/bailed out.

I understood Jones position. The situation sucked and it wasn't ideal but he should've been the company man and done them a solid. He's the champion and one of the best in the world, I think as a champion you might have to work with less than ideal conditions.

Jones isn't the choir boy he acts like. UFC helped make him a lot of money and they sponsored him and supported him through his DUI ordeal. Sometimes you have to just suck it up and gut it out. He was healthy and training for a fight. Sonnen at light heavyweight on 8 days notice would be nowhere near as dangerous as Henderson.

Like Chael Sonnen says in war sometimes you got to be ready RIGHT NOW.

Jones is an idiot and I hope his career fails. Dude is a loser in my book.

I was going to post something inflammatory, but that Oprah gif... it distracted me.

Now it terrifies me. :(

I don't want Jones career to fail. I just think he still needs to mature a little.

In the UFC 152 conference he basically admitted that he was a "snot nosed kid."

Yeah, but he is CONSTANTLY contradicting himself. He'll say something like that, and then turn around and say something about how great of a person he is and how everything is anyone's fault but his.

Not a fan of his.

Burner first of all welcome to the Hype :D .

Second of all, yes Bones does do that a lot and it is annoying. At the same time hopefully since he is still such a young guy this is something he can eventually grow out of and speak more professionally.

I mean even Dana White admitted once that he and Tito Ortiz were acting like two school kids. Eventually they worked things out and at UFC 148 in the post-fight press conference he actually apologized if he did cause any trouble for UFC before and was really gracious about the past and things of that nature.

I think at the heart of it all Jones is determined to maintain his legacy and winstreak. He doesn't want anything to affect it. He wants to beat Tito's record. And there's fear of losing now.

Hang on stop the press... is this Silva vs Bonnar fight actually happening? I thought that was like a fans suggestion or an internet rumour. Stephan Bonnar has massive stones for taking a fight against the P4P best fighter in the world on fairly short notice, it's something that will probably not only earn him more fans, but also won't do him any harm if Dana is looking for people to cut. I personally can't see Silva losing to Bonnar, however Bonnar is a tough dude, hes fought & went the distance with Griffin twice, Rashad once & I believe hes fought Lyoto Machida before. He'll defiantly come to fight & if he goes down, he'll go down swinging.

He is actually someone I wouldn't have minded seeing Rampage fight in his supposedly last UFC fight, unless he has cooled off, as both guys will do in there looking for a scrap.

Jones is a confidence based fighter, at the moment he has never found himself in any sort of danger to overcome. I'm talking he hasn't faced a guy that has hurt him or been a match for him athletically to give him problems.

I don't think he has that fear yet or will ever get it until somebody either catches him hard & makes him think twice about everything he is gonna do.. or just fight someone that will do what he does & fight a clever fight.

I hope Vitor doesn't go in their to box with him because he'll come up against the same problems Rampage & Rashad came up against. He is a big tall guy with long limbs, he is vulnerable to things like heel hooks, kneebars, armbars & triangles. His legs are also, as Joe Rogan has said many times, very skinny & should be the target for someone if they are looking to stand with him to slow him down & sap some of his power .

Kicks open you up to takedowns tho

Only if they are thrown poorly. Jones threw a lot of leg kicks against Rampage & Rashad with neither really even coming close to grabbing hold of his leg to take him down. Snapping, explosive leg kicks would make the window very small for Jones to be able to react to grab hold of or even check the leg kick in time.

Then if they are taken down, then Jones's long arms could be made vulnerable for triangle attempts & armbars if his opponents guard is good & they can maintain wrist control over even 1 of his arms.

I'm not saying he'll be easily submitted but having such long limbs on the ground with a guy that is well versed in submissions would make him more vulnerable to certain things than the average LHW.

B, Bonnar wanted only to take a fight against a big name or main eventer. UFC 153 lost its two main events so bing bang, here we are.

I understand all that however I had completely missed the fact that the Silva/Bonnar fight had been announced & all. I thought the event was still waiting for a replacement fight(s).

Should be a good fight.

Alright, I'm picking Belfort to win on Saturday. First round KO. I don't care what anyone says, its happening.
