So explain to me what makes Carlos Condit the better striker? His KO win over a Judo fighter? Or his running/leg jab performance against Nick Diaz?
Criticize Condit's gameplan all you want but the fact is Diaz had no answer for Condit's mobility and fast strikes. Diaz was seeking a brawl and he got outclassed. It would have been the same result if Diaz fought GSP. Oh, the irony.
Ahh so I should disregard the fact that GSP outstruck both simply because they were tired.. I see
Duh.
See, being underneath somebody while trying to push them off, and return to your feet constantly, you tend to spend copious amounts of energy.
I'm sure if I were to lay on top my opponent for 8-10 minutes and then proceed to stand and trade with him, I'd look like a stud too.
Incidentally, Alves and Penn are notoriously known for subpar conditioning, but I'm sure you believe it's just a coincidence that Alves' and Penn's wide-open mouths were just that.
The beauty is he doesn't have to as I said, even though GSP is the better striker, he has more of a wrestling & grappling advantage over Condit & thus if he is smart he should us his speed & explosiveness to make Condit think he is in a striking match, then just when he thinks he is, then he should take his ass down & go to work.
He doesn't want to engage with anyone who is not depleted or mediocre. GSP is afraid of getting TKOed again.
GSP plays it safe all the time. He wouldn't dare take on Condit's strength, and risk taking a flying knee or right hook on the chin. I guarantee you, GSP will be continuously seeking the takedown to avoid the striking aspect of the game tonight. Quote me on that.
The best strikers in the division are still the best strikers in the division regardless if they don't have the stamina to keep up with GSP. You're acting as if people should overlook the fact that GSP outstruck them because they were tired, I'm sure GSP was tired as well when he was outstriking them.
Ummm, unless GSP actually strikes with Condit in the first round instead of taking him down, it's all mumbo-jumbo to me. GSP got KTFO by Serra and received a broken nose and a bloody lip when he choose to box with Penn.
No, he was not. Are you kidding me? GSP's conditioning has never been a weakness or liability to him. Like Cain and Edgar, GSP has some of best endurance in the sport.
