If Belfort beats Rockhold, you could imagine him vs. Silva II would pull a good number in Brazil. Belfort winning would make him next in line in my eyes, and that would be 2 top five middleweights he’d have beaten.

If your nickname is "The Hulk" your ass should be a raging monster or at least really strong. You shouldn't be some super stiff guy with no sense of urgency.

war vitor!!

^^ If this Vitor shows up against Anderson (if they fight again) it would make it a lot more interesting.

No one can defeat TRT Vitor!

I like that he actually looked back when he threw the kick. He didn't throw it blind.

That was a pretty nice knockout. Rockhold's face says it all.

I don't see Belfort touching Ando. He's too aggressive and believes he moves like lightning. Silva should skip a rematch with Belfort and just destroy Jones already.

If Silva can get past Weidman, we should see Silva vs. Belfort II. Belfort would have to take another fight or wait until next year if he really wants it, though.

Vitor defiantly deserves another shot at Anderson.. sadly however I think Silva will still beat him. However now that Vitor seems to have added kicks to his inventory of attacks it might make a rematch more interesting. The problem is the more aggressive people get with Anderson, the more of a fool he seems to make them look, Vitor could clip him though.. doubtful but possible.

I wish they'd just scrub Silva's imminent destruction of Weidman & move onto either a rematch with Belfort or a catchweight fight with Jones or GSP.

lets see how trt vitor does against silva lol

probably same as trt sonnen and trt hendo

Vitor looked amazing against Rockhold. Countered a takedown, caused Rockhold to back up a couple of times with his super fast hands, and then delivered the awesome KO kick that ended the night for Rockhold.

Does this make Vitor the #1 contender?

Considering the devastating KO/TKO of Bisping the fight before Rockhold (and also with a devastating kick used), you bet!

In the first fight, Vitor was doing just fine against Anderson until Anderson landed the fight finishing kick. Vitor even got the only knockdown before that fight ending kick. If Anderson and Vitor fight again, I would say it's 50-50. Vitor may take the fight if it ends in the first couple of rounds but if it goes to a judges decision, I would edge out Anderson.

However and with that said above, Weidman stands a great chance at defeating Anderson. Where Chael just missed it in the first fight with Anderson, Weidman may just succeed since he hits harder, has just as great wrestling it seems, is a smarter fighter I would think, and better at submission fighting.

Belfort will have another go at him...I believe Belfort can beat him. It was a freak front kick. Dos Santos beat Velasquez, but look what happened. Same could be said for Silva vs. Belfort.

I absolutely lost it when that happened. I love watching Vitor destroy people (although it did hurt a little when he did it to Franklin).

As far as a rematch with Anderson goes... who knows. I would still pick Anderson. I'm wondering if there is any truth to the rumor of Anderson wanting Jones after Weidman and then possibly retiring. I know Jones has also expressed interest in taking other fights (most likely at HW) after he officially passes Tito's LHW title defense record (which he is now tied with), so MAYBE an Anderson fight is in the future. I just feel like there are quite a few interesting fights left for Jones at 205.

 Vitor didn't knock Anderson down at all, and he only landed a low kick and maybe grazed Anderson when his hands were down. The only thing close to a knockdown was when he caught Anderson's kick and pushed him to the ground. He even missed the two shots he threw and almost got kneed in the face when Anderson was getting up.

I would still consider that a knockdown as Anderson hit the mat. I don't think I said it was due to punches or kicks......

While Vitor didn't do too much otherwise (though a couple of minor strikes landed/grazed), your "almost got kneed in the face" by Anderson is pointless as "getting hit" vs "almost getting hit" are two completely different things as "almost getting hit" happens all the time but amounts to nothing if you don't land them. The same in baseball, for example.... hitting the ball to the fence but having it caught amounts to nothing but an out despite the "almost home run." But in the business, "almost" doesn't count.

In the Rockhold fight and prior to the finish, Vitor just missed and grazed Rockhold a time or two but shortly landed that fight finishing kick (that brought the end). It could have been a matter of time before Belfort could have landed a fight finishing blow to Anderson (or at least something that could have set up the finish). In the case of the first fight, it was Anderson who got that finishing blow despite not doing much beforehand (mind you, it was a short match anyway). A rematch would be so intriguing between the two.

Agree with you 100% except that the Vitor-Anderson match is 50-50 with me. But that front kick most likely won't happen again and your example of Cain-JDS 1 & 2 is a perfect example of what might happen in a rematch between Belfort and Silva.

A freak front kick?

That was perfection. It wasn't even a powerful one. The front kick was just dead accurate, and Belfort went into shock. I'm sorry, but Vitor is too much of a wild man to counter Ando. That spinning heel-kick worked on Rockold, but it'd miss Silva by a mile.

There's a large difference between a knockdown and a takedown. Vitor basically landed a takendown because he swung when Anderson threw a kick, and just took him down from his missed punch. A knockdown is when a strike puts you on the ground. Anderson has only been knocked down once in his career, and that's when Chael tagged him and his fingers touched the mat.

You might be correct, I'll have to check out the fight again at some point but you're completely missing the point..... Vitor put Anderson 'down on the mat' and not too many people can say that. As I also said, Vitor was performing just fine until the kick by Anderson and my other points from the previous post still stand in Vitor's favor.

I want to see Silva vs. Belfort II more than anything... there aren't really any other choices. Rockhold and Bisping are behind Belfort because he just obliterated them. Sonnen has lost to Silva twice, Munoz just lost his last fight, Okami already lost to Silva and hasn't looked that great lately, and Stann is coming off two losses.

The division is cleared out, a superfight with a champion needs to happen.

The Middleweight division was never cleared out. It's lacked depth for years now. The Light-Heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions, at least, had their moments of glory in the past, and feature some depth nowadays but the Middleweight division has always been lackluster.

Frankly, Mousasi is a much better match up than Belfort. Gegard has sharp boxing, a stone chin, and great grappling.

Josh Barnett has signed with the UFC.

I assume he will fight Frank Mir first.

About time! Was just thinking how few former heavyweight champions are kicking, Mir, Dos Santos, and that's it. Whereas light heavyweight has Griffin, Machida, Shogun, Evans, and sometimes Franklin and Belfort.
