How funny would it be if Jon Jones came in and saved an event?

He could smash Sonnen and Mousasi back to back no problem. It would be awesome. Unless they find a replacement, this whole card will be canceled, which is insane when you think about how many people they have under contract. It's not just about having any person step up, they need a name.

Guess I need to be praying to the gods of voodoo to hope that Gus can go against Mousasi. If they get a replacement I bet it would be someone like Brilz like what he did against Lil Nog.

The thing that sucks about this is, its the UFC's fault. No one is going to take this fight with the threat of being cut. Plus, its only a week away and I don't know who is in shape to cut the weight with only seven days to do it. If the UFC didn't butcher their roster, they probably could've put something together.

I say give Mousasi somebody, anybody and make a new main event with a different pair of fighters, if they can find them. It doesn't need to be a LHW match-up.

I don't think they will cancel it though. I don't think they can. In Sweden too! Worst of all places this can happen. Since Alex was the hometown boy.

Nah, Jones needs prep time.

I wouldn't count out Mousasi whatsoever. He's got top-tier boxing and kickboxing. His TDD is his biggest weakness but when shows up motivated he's more than capable. O'Brien aka "The Blanket" is a strong wrestler and Gegard stuffed him.

I say if Guf is out, seek out Glover. FOTN potential right there.

Well, it appears Gegard tore his ACL... again. It's not been confirmed but if the injury was serious enough to make 95% of other fighters to back out of a bout, then it's got to a torn ligament.

****, man.

Props to Gegard for still going through with the fight.

Overall it was a good card.

yeah he was in a lose lose situation mousasi fought better fighters in striekforce

The good news is that he got his UFC debut out of the way. He got a win and he will probably be able to get a bigger fight next time.

I wonder who he'll get next. By the time he recovers from surgery, Gus may not be ranked in the top five (assuming he doesn't beat Jones). It'll probably come down to Shogun or Machida but I'm praying for a Hendo match up. It'll be a great test for his TDD. Of course, there's always Glover.

I think you have to put Gustafsson in the top 5 at this point after the Shogun win and six straight wins, 7-1 overall in the UFC.

He should fight Phil Davis again. If he can't beat him, no way he beats Jones.

I don't think they are going to fight unless its for a title.

They train together now in the US. I think they'd fight either for the belt or if a shot at the belt is on the line.

Davis has a fight lined up anyway.

Honestly, I don't think the fight makes much sense right now. Really Gustafsson is ahead of Davis at the moment and Davis has a fight lined up anyway.

:yay:oh i am ready!!!
