McMann is still incredibly green. That's my fear about that fight, and why I think it's a Ronda whitewash like the rest. I WANT McMann to challenge for the title, but not so soon. I would rather see someone like Alexis Davis. I wasn't even really suggesting Cat would win, just why I'd be interested in it. Darth was mentioning Cat, and I just responded to it. She was the original challenger, after all, before Tate.
McMann is most viable contender right now. Sometimes you have to strike while the iron is hot.

There are no guarantees in MMA. Strikeforce tried to BUILD to fights and that strategy failed.

The fight they wanted was Fedor/Overeem, they should've just made it.

Well, it's a HUGE promotional vehicle, that's for sure. Olympian/Olympian. Sells itself. And booking the fight so soon after this one (Less than two months) tells me they want to couple that angle with the heat UFC 168 has.

I know but to me it just reeks of a third Tate-like ass whooping. Ronda knows how to close in awfully quick and clinch with her opponent. That's why I believe Cat only has a puncher's chance. If it goes to the ground, it'll be over in two rounds.

Alexis Davis is a nice prospect.

pretty great/crazy tech.
especially when not on a mat.

To be honest, I think every fight with Rousey is going to be a third-degree ass whooping. I actually do agree that McMann has potential to be that challenger, and threat, but I just think she needs more time. Actually, having Davis and McMann fight would be a perfect solution, but they want a title fight for Rousey right away. Literally RIGHT away.

Interesting to watch how tate locks her arms, even in the face of armageddon. Must be the wrestlers instinct. I have a feeling I'd move my arms to do something about the landing(for better or worse).

All Tate could do is hang on for the ride. The ending usually sucks.

Yeah, I know that feel Meisha.

Miesha's thought process mid-flight:

Man. Sucks to see a legend go out like that. I knew Weidman would win again, but not like that.

Can't wait to see the Weidman/Belfort fight next. Should be interesting.

Silva is done can't see him coming back after that. Sickening man to watch that again. I was expecting Silva to beat Weidman this time round set up a trilogy.

Well, if Weidman's last fight didn't confirm it, it did now. I don't care how it ended. Chris had Silva badly hurt in the first round. Dean easily could have called it when Anderson's head bounced off the canvas.

:funny:

If Herb Dean had stopped the fight for that it would have without question been the most embarrassing stoppage in the history of the sport. He hit him hard enough to drop him, but not hard enough that he was in danger of being finished. He only landed like 3 or 4 of about 12 punches he threw while Silva was on his back because Silva was still moving his head & trying to lock Chris up in his guard.

Not really. :funny:

If hardcore Silva fans can admit that the fight easily could have been stopped, then so can you. Silva clearly wasn't the same afterwards regardless. Refs are trained to spot eyes rolling back and bodies going limp. Anderson, however brief it was, was knocked out.

McMann was supposed to fight Sarah Kauffman at UFC Fight Night 27 but that did not happen.

Ah yes. Anderson's eyes were so rolled back that they stayed closed before and after the knockdown. His body went limp so bad that he immediately went to guard because he was so unconscious that it was a reflex. That's how it all went down.

Anderson losing a round(with no blood on his face) is hardly new. The man lives to counter punch, and when faced with a skilled opponent sometimes that takes a second round with less mistakes. I'm not convinced CW is all that great. Look forward to seeing him prove it against that Belfort creature.

As for tate, Rousey is clearly a more powerful athlete and grappler. Dear god I need Carano to cut weight and put an end to all this.
Rousey plays a great heel as long as she keeps winning(and she will against these women) it works for her.

This! Agree 100%! I'm just not sold on Weidman. I see Vitor beating him very easily. Yep! I said easily. Heck I see Machida beating him. This is going to be one of the shortest reigns ever.

As for Rousey, I just can't get into females MMA. I can't lie, last nights match was good because I wanted her to lose so bad but I just don't see the thrills of seeing two women get beat up like that. Only reason I got the fight was because I was hoping Silva would win.

From the first Fight...

^your crazy chris is not better chris so called wrestling and subs had no effect on silva silva did'nt take much damage on the ground and nullified Chris's grappling

chris won because silva let him punch him in the face end of stroy

Chris Weidman isn't even in Anderson Silva's league. Weidman is to Silva what Douglas was to Tyson, Serra was to GSP, Rahman/McCall to Lewis etc etc.

badgrammar, give it up. You're giving Weidman too much credit. From what we've seen, he ain't s***.

By the Way, I am rooting for Vitor Belfort when he fights Chris Weidman.

How are we eating crow? Please explain.

:o

Apparently you haven't eaten it, because you're to stubborn or embarrassed to admit that you were wrong.

I guess in your opinion, Chris Weidman got lucky twice, even though he almost knock out Silva in the first round in the rematch, and won all the rounds in both fights.

Anyway, I hope Vitor Belfort wins the belt...

Chat with all of you guys later when that fight happens. Peace! I'm out

Are you his daddy? Why the hell are you going out of your way to pick a fight?

I'm gonna give you one chance to apologize.
