I heard comments from Dana White last night, stated very simply that no one is above the rules, McGregor refused to do press, so he's been booted

Dana White was on the Herd just now

not mad, not about money, every fighter has to promote their fights, no one is above the rules

Daniel Cormier-Jon Jones rematch penciled in to headline UFC 200

A rematch between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will headline UFC 200 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 9 if both fighters are healthy, UFC president Dana White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Jones was supposed to fight Cormier last night, but Cormier pulled out of the event with a lower leg injury. Cormier is scheduled for an MRI on Monday.

Jones, meanwhile, was in a wheelchair after last night’s bout against Saint Preux, dealing with a bruised left shin and sore feet.

Not sure the odds on both getting cleared, but pretty legit headliner if so.

Who didn't see this coming? If true, guess the UFC weren't confident in Jones draw/impressed with the OSP performance.

He's probably stirring the pot. Maybe he thinks if he tweets something that isn't true, he'll force the UFC's hand. I think it's funny honestly. I feel for McGregor, he really wants that win back, and I don't blame him, because he was banking on being this unbeatable guy that backed up every over the top comment he made about his opponents, and this one time he didn't it's like his whole world came crashing down, and he can't get over it. At least guys like Ortiz and Sonnen, if they lost oh well, on to the next.

This kinda belongs in here & kinda doesn't but did anyone see Paige VanZant's Austin Powers routine on Dancing With The Stars? Before I go any further let me just point out for the sake of having my man card revoked, I don't watch DWTS but I saw the UFC & various MMA outlets retweet her routine looking for the MMA community to get behind her to win & given that Paige is...:hmr: hot, I decided to watch & I have to say it was pretty dam good.

Hope McGregor gets back on the card but Jones should headline. Jones is the best fighter in the UFC, that's who they should be pushing.

Dana White says McGregor's next fight will be a title defense. And if it isn't, he will lose it.

Damn, he will still have that ego bruise from getting his ass beaten by someone off the couch.

The Diaz/McGregor rematch is pretty much irrelevant to everything, it only means something to Diaz & McGregor. Particularly given it was to be at welterweight it pretty much summed up it's irrelevance IMO. It would be a shame if UFC 200 was headlined by a non-title & irrelevant fight as well. So it's good that Jones/Cormier will headline in that respect.

I saw the press conference that seemed to be the deal breaker between the UFC & McGregor & to be honest I don't know what the fuss was all about, there was like 200 people at that press conference. Your also trying to tell me filming a commercial couldn't wait like a week till the New York press conference which he apparently said he'd have no problems attending.

I think it's kinda stupid all round, it's stupid from McGregor that he didn't voice his displeasure of the conference sooner & it wasn't worked out behind closed doors & I think it's also stupid on the UFC's part given how few people actually were at that press conference to keep him off the card. Both the company & McGregor were too stubborn and as a result both of them will suffer.. McGregor moreso but UFC 200 I would say would do more money WITH McGregor on the card as opposed to not being on it.

Hopefully Edgar batters Aldo, I'd love to see McGregor fight Edgar.. that fight would get me more hyped up than a Diaz rematch.

I'd be happier if the rematch never happened. It was a dumb rematch and an irrelevant one. McGregor is the featherweight champion. He needs to defend that title or just make the jump to 155 pounds and fight there.

The press obligations are in McGregor's contract. He's obligated to do them, just like making weight and showing up to fight. If he doesn't want to do so much media, he's got to get that put in writing.

Hope McGregor gets back on the card but Jones should headline. Jones is the best fighter in the UFC, that's who they should be pushing.

The UFC did push him at one point and then he screwed up.

So for all those who were like, "you don't know Ronda, you don't know if she is an awful person, those are just rumors". Well, here you go:

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-c...anzant-at-a-reebok-photo-shoot-014819649.html

Her latest victim, according to rival Miesha Tate, is none other than current "Dancing with the Stars" frontrunner and UFC 115-pound contender Paige VanZant.

“You know what she did to Paige?” asked Tate on Thursday’s edition of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. “So, Paige was also at that VIP party [referencing a prior party both she and VanZant were attending] – and Paige and I have spoken, we’re friendly, but I don’t know her that well – but anyway, she felt the need, she came up to me, she’s like, ‘Miesha, Miesha, I have to tell you this experience I had with Ronda.' "

As Tate tells it, VanZant and Rousey found themselves at a Reebok shoot a while back and it didn’t take long before Rousey confronted the young fighter for "crossing her."

Apparently, VanZant, 22, who is an admirer of Rousey, was looking around the building for the former champion in an attempt to snag a quick photo when Reebok officials told her to steer clear of Rousey.

“’Stay away from Ronda, don’t ask her for a picture,” said the Reebok officials, according to Tate. “And I guess Ronda came later that day, and seeked (sic) her out – just, like, cussed her out.”

Tate continued, “I guess Ronda came up and was like, “[expletive] you, you fair-weather [expletive], how dare you cross me. [VanZant was] like, ‘Cross you, what are you talking about?’ And [Rousey is] like, ‘You congratulated Holly Holm for beating me, so [expletive] you, you fair-weather, 115-pound…' "

After hearing VanZant’s story, Tate replied, “Honey, welcome to my world.”

And just in case you’re wondering if this was just a nasty case of "she said, she said," VanZant confirmed the story to TMZ in an official statement: “It appears that I offended Ronda by congratulating Holly after her victory. The incident was very shocking and totally unnecessary."

So there you have it: Never congratulate the victor of a Ronda Rousey fight – unless, of course, the winner is Rousey.

Can we stop with the idea that Ronda being a horrible person thing being an act now? Because it clearly isn't.

she's an *******, I figured that was common knowledge

doesn't mean she isn't good at her job

Oh it is. Some just try to deny it here. As to being good at her job. Well, let's see if she ever fights again. :funny:

I get we all want the fighters and celebrities we like to be good people, doesn't always work out that way

I like Rousey, but I also understand she's a toolbox

F*** Rousey. She's such a thug and a fake. I never liked her and her horrible case of resting b**** face. I hope Holm gets to beat that ass again if she (hopefully it doesn't happen) beats Tate for the title.

that's a bit hyperbolic

prior to her loss to Holm, she had dominated every fight she'd been in

now that may just be due to the nascence of the women fighters in the bantamweight division

She is a good fighter. She has also feasted on a very weak division in a very young sport. And of course there is a difference between her the fighter and her the person.

How is it hyperbolic? I didn't say she was a bad fighter. I said she was fake. She's this bad ass who belittles her opponents with so much disrespect. She's a poor sportsman. She says she can beat up Mayweather if they went one on one. Then she loses her title and she cries. She contemplates suicide. She disappears and doesn't want the cameras to see her face so she covers it in a pillow. She says she doesn't know if she wants to fight anymore. That is a thug and a fake.

I would of respected it if she backed up her actions by saying "I'll prepare for the next fight."

OR someone whose identity IS so intertwined with what their job is, so when that is compromised, it affects you

and people cracking on her for the "suicide" thing is s****y, she even admitted it was right after the fight, she was in a low place, and seeing her coach and SO there made her realize it was going to be ok

I'll say she's an a-hole, I won't call her "fake" because she is a professional fighter who racked up a nice chunk of wins

now if she never fights again, or loses her next fight bad, then that is a whole different conversation

She reaped what she sowed. You become a tremoundous ass while you win and when you lose, you become the exact opposite of what you represented yourself as. Humble pie doesn't need an apologist response.
