OR someone whose identity IS so intertwined with what their job is, so when that is compromised, it affects you

and people cracking on her for the "suicide" thing is s****y, she even admitted it was right after the fight, she was in a low place, and seeing her coach and SO there made her realize it was going to be ok

I'll say she's an a-hole, I won't call her "fake" because she is a professional fighter who racked up a nice chunk of wins

now if she never fights again, or loses her next fight bad, then that is a whole different conversation
She is fake. She acts hard, but as soon as she was knocked down a peg, she literally played the woman card to avoid scrutiny. She spent time talking about beating up male fighters and how badass she is, treating other women fighters like crap, and then went into protect me mode.

The thing about the suicidal thoughts, I don't know if I believe her. It is an easy way to get sympathy, and she was looking for it. She is so fake, that I could totally see that from her.

Overeem with that left hook again. There's no question that he's next in line. I'm hoping Werdum wins, I like the backstory, and it would be the rubber match, as both have wins against the other. Arlovski did his best he had a flurry about twenty-five seconds into the fight, and that was about it.

You kidding me? Floyd Mayweather is actually entertaining talks about a potential boxing bout against Conor McGregor...

I understand McGregor has a backround in boxing at youth/amateur level.. but there is a massive difference between that & fighting in the pros.. not to mention against one of the best boxers to ever live if not the best.

I would literally be amazed if this fight was made & I'd be even further amazed if I didn't see Mayweather absolutely dismantle McGregor who literally only has a punchers chance of winning. He'd need to somehow do what 49 other people before him couldn't & that's land a fight ending punch on Mayweather's chin, there'd be no way he'd out decision Mayweather. I'm sure Mayweather doesn't give a crap if he's getting $100m+ but if he actually did fight McGregor & got beat via a decision it would be even more damaging to his legacy than having being KO'd by 1 of his other 49 opponents.

I'd rather Mayweather just stayed retired & McGregor stuck to MMA.

Was it a shame? Werdum chased him like an idiot, and got nailed. It was well deserved, on both sides.

Not arguing that both fighters didn't get the result they got. Just saying that Werdum is better than sloppily lurching in like that. I'm not taking anything away from Miocic.

I am trying to remember, didn't this happen in his fight with JDS? Werdum also looked way out of shape. The testing is real.

How many of the posters here have trained or are training in some kind of combat sport in a serious way? I don't mean that Tae Kwon Do class you took from 3rd to 6th grade. I mean like actually training and sparring regularly in Judo, BJJ, wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai or the like?

Just curious.

Mayweather would destroy McGregor in 30 secs. The whole world knows it.

Bellator completely screwed Brooks out of money. :funny:

Update on CM Punk:

There’s been a lot of speculation on CM Punk’s UFC future. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted this week that there are numerous accounts that say Punk has been working hard but he has not progressed well as a fighter. Punk has participated in live sparring sessions at the gym and there have been a lot of rumors about how he looked but it’s been consistently said that he has not fared well.

UFC originally hoped for Punk, who has had to delay his training at times due to back and shoulder injuries, to debut in the summer of fall of 2015 but injuries and the way he adapted to MMA cause delays. UFC then looked at having him debut on the June 4th UFC 199 event in Los Angeles but that was changed when Punk underwent back surgery, the same surgery Cain Velasquez had a few weeks before Punk, and Cain is booked to fight at UFC 200 on July 9th in Las Vegas.

The Observer also noted that the general feeling is Punk’s first scheduled opponent, Mickey Gall, will probably run through him. It was pointed out that while there will obviously be a lot of buzz when the fight date is announced, UFC has kept quiet on Punk and lately he’s kept a low profile, away from the media. The main reason behind signing a rookie fighter like Punk was the major media attention. Meltzer believes if too much more time goes by without a fight date announced, that will be telling of the whole situation.

I can totally believe that. I have said from the beginning, this was a bad idea for Punk. Anyone comparing him to Brock just doesn't understand the sport or the athlete and wrestler Brock is compared to pretty much every other pro wrestler not named Kurt Angle. And even Angle would have got wrecked in MMA. Punk, even if he was 20, would have a hard time making it in MMA. He is almost 40. If they put him in with an actual fighter, I think he gets destroyed.

At least Brock had the amateur wrestling background. Punk doesn't even have that.

Brock didn't just have an amateur wrestling background. He had a fantastic one, and is an athletic freak.

Apparently Punk hasn't even won a practice match yet. Brock was a division 1 stud ncaa champion. I definitely think a young Angle could have had potential with his wrestling skill. The Punk fight will never happen and if does he's getting choked or ko in the first minute. Hell old broken diem Angle would still fair better than Punk imo

Punk's ego would not allow himself to even consider Bellator or WSOF before the UFC.

I so agree with you that the chances are low the fight ever actually happens. It might be too risky for the UFC imo. It also reeks of the freak matches you get over at Bellator.
