Dana White's little journalist-gate scandal seems to be really blowing up this morning. Dana White has always been an egotistical, insecure piece of ****...but to ban a journalist for breaking a story and telling him that the reason why is that he is "too negative." Stupid, stupid move. He has just overshadowed any hype about Lesnar's return/UFC 200, all due to his own massive ego.

Lesnar is a more bankable commodity, for both companies

if you generate revenue, you get more flexibility

that is how it has always worked

Oh yeah I forgot about that Lesnar thing in the trailer, Mark Hunt appears to be his opponent. Meh it's a nice fight for him if it's a 1 off, Mark Hunt isn't the most technically gifted fighter or striker, but he is absurdly tough & has heavy hands.

It's a nice matchup for Lesnar I think, Lesnar's weakness is his striking ability & Mark Hunt, despite being known for his striking, is somewhat of a less technical striker, doesn't really throw many punches at less than 100% meaning it's a better matchup for Lesnar on the feet than someone who uses jabs, leg & body kicks better. I expect Lesnar to be able to take Hunt down & be able to get the finish on the ground. I don't think Hunt will have the gas tank to last 3 rounds if Lesnar can get him down early.

I think Lesnar can take Hunt down with ease. It's just a matter of whether or not he can get in without getting his bell rung. If he can do this, he can coast to victory on top. I don't see Hunt being able to get up without expending an enormous amount of energy. This won't be a BJJ trip he can defend with his hips.

I agree, I think if Lesnar wants to take this to the ground it will go to the ground, he has the sheer speed & power to explode into taking even a guy of Hunt's size down & if Hunt actually can get back to his feet I imagine it's going to take a lot of his energy.

Even though striking is Lesnar's weak point, he still has enough raw power in his hands to make him equally as dangerous to Hunt as he is to Lesnar. Hunt's striking defense isn't what you'd call elusive, usually he ends up eating one to give one.

It's an interesting enough fight, when I'd seen that he'd be returning against an un-named opponent I was thinking I'd only be interested in seeing him fight Fedor if it was a 1 off, but this fight does have my attention.

Laughable majority decision that was last night for Fedor Emelianenko. That first round was one of the most clear cut 10-8 rounds I've ever seen. You could even make a case for it being 10-7 I'm sure depending on how those type of scored rounds are translated into MMA but at least 10-8. Fedor probably did enough to get the next 2 rounds but certainly no more than 10-9 rounds meaning at best it was a draw, certainly not a victory for Fedor.

Even though he managed to recover in between rounds & end up going the distance, I felt the fight should have been stopped. Fedor took a lot of unnecessary punishment in that first round & was completely out on his feet only kept standing by the cage. Stopping a fight isn't only for when a fighter is rendered completely incapable of continuing, it's to save the fighters from themselves & from taking unnecessary punishment which Fedor clearly did.

Near the end of that first round, Fedor took it must have been about 10+ unanswered punches, 5 or 6 strong uppercuts & the referee actually stepped in as Maldonado was putting it to him not to stop the fight, but to put Fedor's mouthpiece back in that he lost at some point during the beating, which was diabolical refereeing IMO.

Crazy decision though which was an embarrassment for MMA as a whole, which is a shame because even though I thought it should have been stopped in the first, the fact that it was allowed to continue & Fedor recovered in between rounds & managed to arguably win the next 2 made it a good advert for MMA as it was an entertaining back & forth fight in the 2nd & 3rd. The fight itself was ruined by an embarrassingly biased decision. Should have been declared a draw I feel.

Fedor got a gift there. Two judges not giving Maldonado a 10-8 is the most disgracefully judged round in history. I love Emelianenko, but he seems to have little left but his will. He fought a conditioned journeyman with brain damage and got beat.

Alas sign me up for a fight against Bigfoot in the UFC. If he can retire with the only unavenged losses of his career being to Henderson and Werdum, it would be deserved. What a man.

I've always felt Fedor was more hype than anything else, hyped up by his legion of fans as being better than he actually was/is.

His record is what? 35-5? Something like that, if you weed out all the mediocre or freakshow opponents, LHW's posing as HW's & just leave in the true heavyweights & credible opponents. Suddenly his record is no longer impressive.

Everyone down here will be cheering for Mark. Great guy, from a really horrific background - one of the ultimate "turn your life around" stories.

I don't think the fight will be one-sided at all. Lesnar is a smarter fighter than many give him credit for. True, Mark would only need one decent punch, but Lesnar may be able to deny him the opportunity - as he has a much more developed ground game. However, if Lesnar decides to stand up and bang with Mark, he'll go down hard.

I thought the Cerrone fight was entertaining. So was the Bosse fight, that 1st round! The main event... It left something to be desired, considering how exciting both men tend to be but when you know the winner is pretty much getting a title shot you don't want to go all stupid and wind up getting knocked out or submitted. In the 1st 2 rounds, MacDonald stayed at range, and it was a range that favored Thompson. The thing he did to get inside that range was roll for leg locks. This could've worked, and then he'd look like a genius, but there wasn't a high probability that it would work.
