...i actually am of the opinion that Gambit fans DO hate the way Carey writes Gambit. he has only further neutered the character...he practically has a birth canal now.

As a huge Gambit fan, I liked Carey's voice for him when he first showed up during the Xavier part of Legacy

But once they went to find Rogue, it all went downhill....

oh please as if they've killed any of their roster over at X-force. For all the heat they get, the only significant mutants they have killed off were Wallflower and Icarus and neither were really that significant

K&Y do overthrow the prediction of most readers, they haven't killed mutants in their story, the ones they did kill off were all the baddies, I'm under the impression that they like blood a lot, but it doesn't necessarily centered on mutants.

Ah yes, cause let's bring in more Mr. Meh to spice up a Meh-tastic issue. I'm sorry, Squeek I love you, but Gambit has been meh since the late 90s. Haha.

I agree, this issue was terrible, if it wasn't for getting to see Husk actually do something again I probably would say this is one of the most boring X-Men issues I've ever read.

I'm just sayin' it mighta made such a meh issue, you know.. a little less meh. Or not.

I'd just be concerned that they'd find a way to give Gambit claws and have him freak out and start killing people. t: They do enjoy mass violence.

In all seriousness, if the X-Office is actually going to try to make Gambit darker with this whole storyline they're stringing together, he'd fit in over at X-Force.

I mean, he's got the whole Death powers going on, and he can still make stuff blow up. How can K&Y not like that?

Oh, I'm calling it right now:

-Hope does her whammy to mutantkind, which fixes M-Day to a certain extent.
-Magneto takes over Utopia.
-Cyclops moves the X-Men off of Utopia and back to the mainland, where they become part of the Heroic Age.

then let X-force be its own team that doesnt operate under the X-men. Its one of the best selling X books. I dont see it going away even with Yost/Kyle's depearture and the Heroic Age

Disagree! I think he started being "meh" after X-treme and his second first solo series. Am I the only one who liked X-treme?!

What gets me is that most of you Gambit fans hate the way Carey writes him, yet you insist that Carey use him more often.

I don't understand it myself. Like I've said, I would rather have Gambit be killed off and gone for 10 years if it meant having someone who understood his character writing him. Quality over quantity.

To make matters worse for Gambit, it's like Carey saw what Yost and Kyle did with Warren and said ''I want me some of that." So he brought back Gambit's horsemen persona.

I actually like the idea of his Death persona coming back. I just don't think Carey writes Gambit well enough to exploit the premise as well as it could be.

he started going downhill long before that. most of his work during Milligan's run looked awkward.
