That's actually pretty funny because I've been thinking about going as Patriot. :woot: Wouldn't know where to start when it comes to making costumes though.

I really hate that her name's Hawkeye. Hawkingbird sounds ******ed, but the name Hawkeye should have been retired after Clint "died".

I have more of a problem with it because the guy's still alive. If he remained dead then I would have been a-okay. Now it just feels kind of wrong. They could've named her Straightshooter or something. Hulking has the only name that pretty much HAS to have some kind of relation to the person he was imitating.

Even if Clint didn't come back, it'd still be wrong. Even something as obvious and boring as the name Arrow would've been better.

I saw it as kind of a legacy thing (at least that's what the intention was, I'm sure). Just like there have been many Captain Americas over the years. I get that she was a tribute character...Doooesn't work when the guy's alive though. But hey, he's Ronin, he's not even using that name anymore so whatever.

I see no reason why they can't both be Hawkeye. Theres two Green Arrows. Two Haweye's work fine enough.

Huh. You know, I never drew that comparison before. DCs archers with the same name and Marvel's archers with the same name.

Because someone at Marvel hates multiple characters with the same name. Penance and Scorpion, anyone?

I actually kind of like Savage's suggestion "Straightshooter."

"Hawkeye" doesn't only refer to an archer, either. It just means someone's got sharp eyes, implying good aim. Or is a native of Iowa, for some reason. :o

Eh, I like it. Maybe not for Kate, in retrospect. But it'd be a cool name for a cocky, Deadshot-like villain.

Straightshooter is basically saying the same thing that Hawkeye is and it beats something as obvious and Arrow or Hawk and it's actually original in the same way that Wiccan, Patriot, Speed, and Stature are. Vision stayed the same for obvious reasons and Hulkling there's just no escaping it.

I wish Vision had changed his name. He's no more the Vision than Hulkling is the Hulk. He's like the Vision's kid brother.

He's got the Vision's memories and programming, as well as appearance and powerset (plus extra). And Vision's "dead," so someone might as well carry on the legacy.

He's got the Vision's operating system, not his programming or memories. His entire personality is different because it's based on Iron Lad's rather than Wonder Man's or Alex Lipton's, too. Appearance and powers don't make him anymore the original vision than Kate's purple costume and marksmanship make her the original Hawkeye.

Operating system is what I meant by programming. And I believe he has the Vision's memories/files, just no emotional connection to them.

I can't remember for sure if he did or didn't have the memories, but if he has no emotional attachment to them, he's basically just got a digital photo album in his head. That still doesn't make him "the new Vision" or anything. He's a different being from the Vision, and I wish he'd gotten a name to indicate that.

He'd have to change his name to something with a "V," though. That's become a trend now with Vision and Victor.
