MORE ON WHAT HAPPENED WITH JEFF HARDY AT VICTORY ROAD AND THE REACTION FROM PEOPLE BACKSTAGE IN TNA TO IT
by Dave Scherer @ 9:56 AM on 3/14/2011

To follow up what Mike Johnson posted in the Elite section last night, numerous TNA sources have told me that Jeff Hardy was in no condition to wrestle in his match against Sting on last night's show, and that is why the main event went less than 90 seconds.

Sting, as usual, was a complete professional and had nothing to do with why the match was so short.

In talking to people within TNA, they are angry and upset that Hardy was even sent out to the ring at all when it was clear to anyone who saw him that he should not have been. Given that the card was only announced a few days before the show, everyone I spoke with about this felt that the prudent move would have been to reshuffle the card and not embarrass the company but putting on the main event that they did. The feeling is that it makes the company look bad and it's situation that is representative of greater problems that plague the company. To say that people in TNA are very frustrated right now would be more than fair

Allow me to explain one more time...

INCLUDING Heroes Of Wrestling....I believe that Hardy vs Sting is the worst PPV main event I had heard of (I hadnt heard of the Goldberg/DDP fiasco).

Now...I am NOT going back on my word...I am INCLUDING Heroes Of Wrestling. The reason why is very simple...NO ONE expected a high quality match that night. NO ONE expected the match to mean anything at all even in the short term. The people who bought that PPV had no reason to believe that it would be anything more than a goofy, nostalgic night of wrestling, with guys way past their prime who shouldnt even be in the ring. Sting vs Hardy was for a world title...one that is recognized and covered by every wrestling news organization. This match had major importance, and was promoted to be a huge match with huge ramifications for months to come.

Just because nobody expected a major wrestling match do you think people EXPECTED to be offended with Jake Roberts jacking his damn snake off and forcing women in the crowd to fondle him? Do you think people expected the card as it was advertised? You've once again changed the arguments into something else. The Jeff hardy match was the bigger deal but I'm talking about the worst. Almost the whole Heroes of Wrestling ppv was wrestlecrap bad.

However, what several people have tried to explain to you is...Heroes Of Wrestling was a one time goofball event that no one took seriously. Unlike ECW, AWA, Mid South, TNA etc etc etc Heroes Of Wrestling had no storylines...no ongoing feuds...no promises to feature any of the wrestlers ever again...no titles...no history...they had NOTHING. They had less going for it than your average local indie fed. It was a one time experiment to see if people would pay to see washed up broken down wrestlers, just for the sake of seeing them again. You simply CANNOT seriously be comparing this to an ECW PPV event, as if the two were in any way similar outside of the "sport" of wrestling being involved.

"several" people as in two people? :whatever: And what you don't seem to get is that a bad show is a bad show. The had more of those ppvs planned and it ended up being SO damn bad that all those plans were scrapped and the PPV bombed. If people weren't EXPECTING something better that show would have one a much better buyrate. It didn't. If it had done well they would have done more. They didn't.

What you don't understand is people at least EXPECTED a good wrestling show. Nobody expected drunken idiocy. They didn't even get a good show.

At least Hardy vs Sting GAVE us a finish. WCW f***** up so bad that people got ripped off of their money that night and didn't even get to see Golberg vs DDP. Then they ripped people off again at Halloween Havoc 99 and again at Bash at the Beach 2000...and that was on purpose. Certain people weren't high they were just a***holes.

And for the record...last night I defeated my dog Honey Bunny to win the world title for the 800th time. Also, I am undefeated, as I have lost my smile 799 times, and had to forfeit each time. So, I have the most world title reigns, and the longest win streak in wrestling history...please mention that if anyone ever tries to tell you that some other wrestler actually holds those records.

Did Jeff Hardy lend you some of his stash?
