In terms of her role in Endgame, my expectation would be that she's not in much of it. Just feels more as if they are focusing on the original Avengers plus a few newer faces like Ant-Man and Captain Marvel.

Sure Okoye could play a role. But part of me thinks she's got her hands full in Wakanda. Chaos has to be everywhere. They no doubt lost a sizable amount of people, their King, and probably members of their army/security forces. She may not have time to go around the Galaxy to fight Thanos and instead stay behind to support her people.

The poster thing is something to consider. But they could have just thrown her up there so Black Panther fans have an important character from that franchise in the mix. Could still be in enough of the movie to warrant being on the poster just because the movie could take some time to be in Wakanda for various reasons. But if she does get more time than that then it could be cool. Can get some good moments since she's another person who has suffered unbelievable loss from Infinity War.

Plus I think Shuri's not on this because the Russos want to hide whatever it is she get up to in this movie, for those wondering why Okoye is the Wakandan representative instead of Shuri. But yes, like others said, having Okoye on the poster but leaving Danai Gurira's name off the list (when everyone else on the poster was named) was a mistake that was rightly called out and addressed. It happened so quickly that I didn't realize there was much if any fanfare to begin with.

Where was the outrage when the same thing happened to Paul Bettany on the AoU poster?

Was Paul Bettany as Vision in a previous Marvel movie that made a billion dollars? Up to that point, he was only a voice role so would not have generated the same attention as having an actor from Black Panther does.

I agree. They shouldn't have included her. I figured her role wouldn't be big, but I'd have hoped for way more than what we got. That being said, just 2 years until BP 2 D

I don't think it was "diversity push". It was simply to get fans who only loved BP. I'm sure they might have done the same with the character of Wong, had more people really fallen in love with him during Dr. Strange.

Actually they did do the same thing with Wong didn't they. Wasn't he in the poster for Infinity War.
So yeah maybe they just like doing that

Yes, but he wasn't on the Endgame poster though. Which makes sense as he's only onscreen for like 45 seconds and has 2 lines. And Gurira has a massive following from The Walking Dead plus Black Panther.

I agree that her lack of screentime probably pissed off some of her rabid fans.

It’s a marketing snafu. She didn’t play a big role, but you also want to show that connection to BP which also made $1 billion. Couple that with the agents, lawyers, etc. when it comes to which names show up on the posters.

The mission to go back in time to retrieve the stones would have been for her country and it would have only taken a few days away from Wakanda to participate in it.You dont think she would have stopped everything to help if she learned there was a chance to bring back T'Challa and the half of the Wakandan population that disappeared? Was she needed? No, but they could have found a way to work her into that

I suppose you're right. If they could bring in Hawkeye and Nat, then Okoye could have held her own in the battle. I wonder if she was just busy with filming The Walking Dead. Or they didn't know what to do with the character so they kept her sidelined. I bet BP2 covers some of her role during the 5 years.

the only reason I had an issue with it was bc she was featured on the poster so I left the theater feeling misled by the marketing. Had she not been on it, I wouldnt have thought twice about her not being featured alongside the rest of the team on this mission
