Blunt was always my pick for Black Widow. She would've been amazing as her. Which is exactly why she doesn't seem suitable for Sue.

Still wish we could have gotten Blunt for that role. I like Scarlet, and she has good chemistry with the other actors (particularly Evans), but Blunt feels like she would have been much more believable and comic-accurate as Widow.

For this I figured that after the last 2 versions of the Fantastic Four weren't met with solid reception, that the best way to show the audience that they're in for something different is by casting several well known, and a few Oscar nominated/winning actors. So the audience won't go in hoping the movie will be good, they'll go in with the expectation that it's good.

Must be the only one who didn't like Blunt as Widow. Blunt looks hardass and experienced, yes, but in such a transparent and obvious way she doesn't work as a manipulative spy with a mysterious past. There needs to be a level of ambivalence that ScarJo embodies that I've never seen Blunt have in any of her roles.

It will be interesting to see how they deal with Sue's power. If they really let her go and give her complete control of her power, she could be one of the most powerful characters in the MCU.

Sue is also caring, kind, bubbly, smart and quirky, just don't piss her off. She's multi-layered but the main traits of her need to shine through. Blunt screams "hard ass" and "Seasoned, cold to emotion badass" and that's why the vast majority of her roles have her playing those kind of characters.

I agree that she would have been a great fit fot Black Widow had her scheduling worked out but she'd also be a great Mystique or Emma Frost. She'd fit comfortable in a role like that. Sue? Not so much.

Yeah, I think the trick to Sue (and very cool element of her character) is she should seem sweet and completely nonthreatening most of the time.

But on certain occasions, she should be scary as hell.

Her awesome power should take viewers (and villains) off-guard, because she doesn't seem like a threatening character. That's the fun part.

Mr. Fantastic - Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield as Mr. Fantastic? That kind of seems more in the vein of the casting they did with Miles Teller in Fan4stic(hewing more closely to the Ultimates comics than the 616 one).

Granted, Garfield is actually older than I give him credit for(he’s 34) but he has these boyish qualities that don’t immediately scream Reed Richards to me. With Reed, I imagine a man’s man. While it would be mildy amusing to see a former Spider-Man interacting with the current Spider-Man I’d rather go with someone else like Matthew Goode or something.

He’s not a bad choice as he’s a good actor but I don’t think he matches the image of Reed Richards that I imagine in my head.
