I don't know about Melissa. She is still Supergirl and I don't think she's a strong enough actress but then again, I've only seen Season 1. If we're going by DC actresses then Margot Robbie would be one of the best choices for Sue in Hollywood imo.Melissa Benoist would be a good choice for Sue. She has a naturally warm personality. Supergirl can be a badass while not having to seem like one at all. She doesn't give off that hard-edged, tough vibe but still is strong as the girl of steel.
Her name comes up for a lot different CBM roles. I remember people wanting her for Emma Frost in 2010 (Which she would fit perfectly), people wanting her for Selina Kyle/Catwoman in 2010, Sony wanting her to play a female Scorpion and of course, Captain Marvel which I was okay with. (But Marvel's vision was more in line with Kelly Deconnick's Carol and the Ms. Marvel run from 2006 hence Brie Larson)Her name came up occasionally before Krasinski's did. It's just more often now.
Yes, but go to placed like IGN or Collider, the people seem more infatuated by the idea of a married couple playing Reed and Sue (not realizing that doing this can become a problem later down the line) I just don't like the idea of her as Sue. I try to warm up to it but even after seeing Quiet Place - I came out wanting Krasinski as Reed even more and Blunt even less. Not the only reason. I also would consider her because she is very talented and has been in the running for several other characters for Marvel prior. I think she would be excellent as Sue.
Maybe burnt decaf.on decaf....

Here's the thing. Blunt as a "hard-edged action girl" was a departure for her going by her previous body of work that I've already mentioned. So that's hardly her "type" to be cast against for Sue Storm.I understand your point about casting against type and how it worked for Ledger among others but to me, that opens the door to a whole new can of worms about who should and shouldn't be considered for the part. For now, I think it's best to trust your instincts as a fan.
Hmm... Not so sure about that. In Devil Wears Prada, she played a cold hearted henchwoman. in Sunshine Cleaning she played the "straight man" to Amy Adams' character, she played another serious part in Young Victoria. Here's the thing. Looper didn't define her craft. She was nominated for stuff before that. Her most high-profile nominations weren't even for action roles. Which is why the Sigourney Weaver comparison doesn't fly.Hmm... Not so sure about that. She has always been playing badasses, cold characters, straight mans or emotional distressed people. It didn't start with Looper, it started in Devil Wears Prada where many people were first introduced to her. Looper just defined Blunt's craft for many people.
Mary Poppins may be the first time I've seen her play someone kinda wacky.
Its kind of a shame we cant see a proper frightful four. I mean medusa turned out horribly because of the inhumans, sandman and hydro man I think are tied up with Sony and Im not sure what the extent of the share deal is there, Klaw has been done and the wizard like how would you even do him?
Although the ultimate version would be so much fun
Personally, I've never been a fan of the Frightful Four. They're not particularly powerful and their biggest strength is the Wizard's brain... and his intellect is clearly inferior to Reed and Doom and probably well below the Mad Thinker.
Besides, the Frightful Four seem mostly interested in attacking the FF - not plotting to take over the world etc. That puts the FF in a position of simply defending themselves. They're not risking themselves to save others as proper heroes should. They're simply defending against an attack by a weak group of super-villains and have no real choice in the matter.
Makes for a pretty dull story IMO.
Or another FF casting I would do would be:
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic- John Krasinski
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman- Sienna Miller
Johnny Storm/Human Torch- Logan Lerman
Ben Grimm/The Thing- John Cena
Villain of course being Dr. Doom who would be played by none other than Nikolaj Coster Waldau
No to John Cena as Ben Grimm. I'd even take Logan Lerman as the Thing more than John Cena. At least he's more Jewish.
John Cena is just not talented enough for a role like Ben Grimm who needs wit and sensitivity. Cena has the sensitivity of a brick, which ironically, is exactly what is not needed for the Thing.
No to John Cena as Ben Grimm.
Jon is too old for a franchise.I've kind of been picturing Jon Hamm as Ben Grimm since I first saw him being suggested as Reed. A big, handsome guy with an old school vibe that worked his way up from a rough past to become a great veteran pilot and now he gets hit with this tragic transformation and has to work his way past that, too. I don't know. I can just picture it for some reason. He might have a lot of fun with the voicework and motion capture, too.
