I'd agree with that. Pine would almost be too similar to RDJ's Tony Stark - which obviously worked, but I think Reed should be a little more stiff and humorless. Johnny and Ben can add the fun.

And if you make Reed the fun one, then you can't really make all of them like that, so one of the others would probably lose their personality to become the straight man. And who are they going to take that away from? Either Ben Grimm or Johnny Storm.

And taking away Grimm's trademark humour would be doing the character an injustice again. We already had that with Bell's humourless portrayal. And you can't take that from Johnny either. So mixing up the personalities would just give us another incorrect characterisation.

Jonathan Groff is the man for the job. Go watch him in Mindhunter.

Jonathan Groff would be at the top of the list for the traditional Reed Richards portrayal. While we're at it, it would be so amusing if the whole F4 main cast could also carry a tune. Plus Doctor Doom's actor, you know he's gonna need an excellent voice.

I'm still on the John Krasinski and Emily Blunt train for Reed and Sue. Bonus points if John directs.

if they keep him white tho... chris pine?

Ironically I've considered him for Ben (but, thought it might be to similar background/personality wise to his WW role) obviously not the part about being a giant Rock-man that'd still be unique for him, I guess

If he were much younger, I would've liked Bruce Greenwood as Reed. In Star Trek 09, he played Captain Pike. He's more Reed-like than Chris Pine.
Yes, he definitely reminds me of Reed. He could have been great when he was younger.

^I remember, Anson Mount's name being throw around for Reed back in the day too, who also plays Pike ... but even he's a bite to old for it now

it would seem Reed is more Pike like over Kirk like

oddly enough I feel like both of them only fit the role when they were a bit older tho

Anson Mount would've been great for Reed too. Unfortunately he's 47 now so probably too old for the role. I do find him more Reed like than Ethan Peck, who I'm still not too sure about.

To me, Oscar Isaac has a more interesting dynamic to him that I think would be wasted on the Reed character. It's why I'd like him for Doom. I may not lean to race changing, but I could see Henry Golding, if race changing must be done, as more fitting. To me, he's got a heroic looking face.

I think, looks wise, he and the Dianna Agron Sue fancast the fancast I put out, would look like a pretty couple.

Again, not into race changing, and my preferred concept for the FF is starting them off in the 60's.
I can see Henry Golding in the role. But I disagree with Oscar Isaac being wasted as Reed. I feel it would be a really good use of his talent and charisma. Playing a complex but not particularly flashy hero can be much harder than hamming it up as the cool villain.

If they're going to race swap, then I would rather it were Reed race swapped to be Asian than anything else. And they should keep Sue as Caucasian and blonde. The reason why? Because Asian men often get the short end of the stick in Hollywood. You don't see them usually in anything else than a martial arts role, and they aren't often enough paired with a Caucasian woman. That translates into real life where Asian men are then regarded as less attractive than other races. You'll often see a white man with an Asian woman but less so the other way round.

Something like Reed Richards as an Asian in a leading role similar to Captain America and Iron Man combined who isn't doing martial arts and is paired with a Caucasian woman would definitely help improve the image of Asian men in real life. People are influenced by the media, and something as big as the MCU would have a large influence.

Golding has been mentioned a lot for Namor. It'd be wild if both he AND Reed are played by Pacific-Asian actors.

You have him and Blunt to lead the next phase of Marvel. You will need big names now that Downy and Evans are gone possibly Helmsworth soon to leave..............especially if Portman is going to be the next Thor................which, not going to lie, I have no plans to see. None.

^ Is that a man or a woman in that gif?

I think golding looks a bit too good-natured for lack of a better word for namor. He definitely should look arrogant and snobby.

There's this technique he could use to make it happen. It's called acting.

Acting can only do so much, though. Any talented actor can play arrogant and snobby. But there is a specific look about Namor that just screams "elitist royalty." IMO you need someone with a more thin, elegant, "sharp" look about them. Golding is very much a traditional Hollywood romantic lead-type, and would be better as Reed, I think. John Cho would have been perfect, but has probably aged out of consideration. Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) is about what I would be looking for.

I think Ian Anthony Dale would work well for Namor:

Haughty, snobby and arrogant-looking Prince of Atlantis:

Angry Atlantean:

Slightly heroic:

Can't keep up the heroism for too long, so back to the villainous smirk:

I get that. I really do. Because that man was human torch and captain America. But you know what?.... I still don't see it from golding lol. I can get on board with Anthony Dale though. He has those Namor specific angular features to his face.
