If they want a slightly older team I’d say Olivia Wilde would be a good pick for Sue.

I stated before, I think that Sue's performer needs to "pop" in terms of presence and charisma, probably in a way that is even more endearing and engaging that what's required for the other three.

I'm sorry to say, of the above actresses that I know of, I find them pretty wan in terms of performance ability as well as general presence. Frankly, and this is odd coming from me given my distaste of how much Marvel Studios RELIES upon humor as a cheap crutch so often but perhaps instead of the usual suspects of "gorgeous" young starlets we turn to more comedic performers?

Rachel McAdams ticks both the "gorgeous" and "hilarious" boxes. Ah, well.

Annie Murphy would be a good choice. Kate McKinnon as well.

What about Kate McKinnon?

I myself wouldn't mind Kate but I feel that she's "an acquired taste" for many.

What I want is to put Margo Robbie, Sarah Chalke and Kate into a blender and BOOM, Sue Storm...

But that would be both messy and illegal.

Kate McKinnon would be an awful choice for Sue. There is not a single film she's in where she doesn't still feel like she's doing an SNL sketch and being one of her caricatures. She overacts and has these odd ticks and would be the most annoying Sue possible. She would look more like she's doing an SNL parody of it.

Because actors NEVER change their performances people.

Ever.

Its just science.

It's why Jim Carrey was exactly the same in Ace Ventura as he was in Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine.

The EXACT same kind of performance and mannerisms.

She has been hired by Sony to direct a Spider-Woman movie, but I guess by the time FF starts shooting she might be available.

It wouldn't surprise me if it is true. He's probably the Number One fancast these days and is one of the most in-demand rising talents in Hollywood. So it stands to reason they'd be trying to get him on board.

Another option I just thought of for Sue with great comedy and drama skills:

I keep coming back to Kristen Bell for Sue.

Propobly too old even if she still looks in late 20s. But I love her and would be happy to see her in a comic book movie.

Hmm, in the FF’s case, I don’t see them start looking at actors until at least sometime next year. However, if it’s true, good, but personally I think Montgomery is a better fit for Wolverine than Human Torch. He gives off a very strong dark “rebellious, bad boy” vibe that seems more a fit for Logan than Johnny, imo.

But no complaints if he’s cast as the character, though. He’s a good actor and I can see why many fancast him as Johnny.

Edit: Dan Slott(who’s currently writing the Fantastic Four comic) actually did suggest Riversdale’s KJ Apa for the part and I think that actor is much better suited for the role than Montgomery.

I like Cristin Milioti, but don't think blonde hair suits her. She's tried it before hasn't she? I think it would end up looking a bit unnatural like Jessica Alba.

How can Montgomery be suitable for Wolverine? Surely he's way too young, especially if he's being considered for the Human Torch. It's not like the two characters are almost interchangeable. Wolverine needs to be older and not some youngster like some of the other X-Men would be.

Too young? He’s not that much younger than Hugh Jackman when he was cast(he’s 26). Jackman was 30 when he first started playing Wolverine. It’ll be a long while before we see an MCU Wolverine. If they have Wolverine first appear in an X-Men film in 2025 or so. He’ll be more than age appropriate.

I don't know what age he is. I assumed he was younger if people keep fancasting him for Johnny Storm. At 26 he's probably getting a bit old for that part then. But I think they should go older for Wolverine anyway rather than 30.

Cristin Milioti

She is super likable which is necessary for Sue. Just unsure if she can do the more action-y and brutal aspects of the character. Sue is compassionate, but the actress needs to realistically portray that Sue can also be a force of nature.

They were trying to do the TV show all over again, which is why it feels tired. They also keep perpetuating the myth to the public that the Hulk doesn't really talk at all but is a mindless savage.

After Ang Lee's Hulk which had the worst origin of all with jellyfish DNA and Banner having the equivalent of being caught between two airport security gates that zapped him, they really needed to up their game with a proper gamma bomb origin. They missed the boat in this regard.

We could really have had Rick Jones in this with TIH and it wouldn't be merely Banner trying to tamper with forces but actually saving someone.

Two sides to this coin. On one hand, I feel like the original origin actually *is* deeply important. . . just not for the reasons that often get stated. The most important thematic element isn't the bomb test, or the military being the cause of it, or any of that. The most important thematic element is Bruce Banner, risking his own life to save a bystander, and suffering for it. It is an act of heroism as the starting point, and that gets stripped out of so many versions of the character. Which is why my favorite cinematic adaption is actually the Ang Lee version, because while it may have taken place in a lab? Still had Banner proverbially throwing himself in the way to save someone else.

Other side of the coin: the reason directors keep going back to the TV show, is because the TV show is iconic. It is why the Hulk is as big an element of pop culture as he is. Without the show, the Hulk would not be a recognized hero, in the same way that Batman would not be recognizable without the 60s TV show. So, just flat out ignoring it is not really a viable option.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if Montgomery gets the role and I wouldn't be surprised... just not sure how reliable the source is.

I could see KJ in the role, too.

Cristin Milioti would've been good to play the Wasp - either Hope or a proper Janet Van Dyne. She would have the perkiness and fun for the character.

What other comic characters are like that whom she could play?

I like Cristin Milioti and have seen her name come up. While I think she'd be great for the MCU, I don't think Sue right off the bat. Maybe something on Disney+. Abigail Brand maybe?

It's funny how 3 of the more listed/mentioned fancastings could actually gain some traction and maybe become reality:

John Krasinki
Emily Blunt
Dacre Montgomery

Ironically, those are 3 I have mentioned myself and would be just fine with that....the Thing/Ben Grimm is one of the tougher ones for me...

but there is one desired fancasting that supersedes ALL and that is Mads Mikkelsen as Doom....

I don't know about Mads Mikkelsen as Doom. If Doom shows up in a Dr Strange movie, which isn't out of the realm of possibility, then it looks like the same villain from the first film again.

Well if he is behind his mask, its the voice and presence that attracts me to Mads for Doom

It’s always nice to see the FF and the Mutants together with their fellow Marvel brethren in official promotional materials. Really reminds you they’re home. Welcome home FF. We all missed you.
