Old MCU Fantastic Four Discussion Thread

- I'd like one of the Infinity War consequences to be the Fantastic Four getting their powers. Have the origin a throwaway moment of IW rather than the focus of an entire film. Maybe in Avengers 4 with Thanos having won in the previous film, Tony Stark recruits Reed and Sue to join some sort of space station base where the remaining Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy currently are to look into the science behind the Infinity Gauntlet, see if there's a weakness they can use to their advantage to take down Thanos. Perhaps Thanos spots this spaceship piloted by Ben Grimm and somehow causes the cosmic rays? Maybe Johnny Storm was a stowaway (in the original origin story, it is quite random him being there)?

- After Avengers 4, the Fantastic Four should get their 'Homecoming', taking inspiration from the comic storyline 'Rise of the Sub Mariner'. Namor as the antagonist, who in later movies switches sides in a similar manner to Loki in the Thor films. No Tony Stark intervention this time though. Maybe a cameo from an MCU hero if need be - perhaps Star Lord could make an appearance, or Spider-Man. I'd like a trilogy of films, and all three to have a heavy focus on family. Really play with the dysfunctional family thing.

- I'd like the Phase Four villain to be Doctor Doom, Phase Five maybe a Spider-Man villain rather than Fantastic Four, and Phase Six Galactus. P4,5 and 6 movies all need to set up Galactus in the same way Phases 1,2 and 3 did with Thanos.

- Silver Surfer should be introduced in either one of the Fantastic Four films, or an Avenger movie. In my version of the phases he definitely wouldn't appear in the first film, but maybe the second or third.

- I totally want to see T'Challa appear in one of the Fantastic Four films (again, in my version it wouldn't be the first film), as I loved the FF comic stories where he appeared. He is well-suited for the tone of Fantastic Four.

YES!! so many good ideas here. I've been contemplating the FF origin being born from IW since before the deal was was even talked about.

I would have had the FF be on a space station during IW, and some cosmic radiation fall out from Thanos irradiates there space station.
They land on earth post IW with all there powers.

And having Dr Doom as the Phase 4 Thanos is genius. He's not a one movie/character antagonist. He's the kim jong un of Marvel. He should not only but heads with the FF but the Avengers too. He also has that Doom War arc with Black Panther.

Doctor Doom is a short fat korean who likes cake?

Actually he still could be the character...lets be honest Kaecillius wasn't that great a character but Mads IS Doom...in fact he wants to play the character if given the chance...

True. Plus, if Disney is keeping the current X-Force lineup as is for the merger (so much fuel for Deadpool), that means Josh Brolin is playing both Cable and Thanos in the same universe, so it wouldn't be unheard of.

I'd like to see a younger Johnny Storm

figure it will be a couple years at least before we see a Fantastic Four movie , so I'd like to see a Johnny Storm around Peter Parkers age

Reed Richards – John Krasinski
Sue Storm – Alice Eve
Johnny Storm – Max Thieriot
Ben Grimm – David Harbour

i keep seeing this posted in other threads

but am i the ONLY person who DOESN'T want a 1960s F4 that got trapped/stuck in time or something. sounds like max landis' terrible pitch

like just give me a modern day family and just integrate them in like you do all the other properties (panther, strange, ant-man, etc)

Yeah 1960s F4 sounds like dog doodoo

Iron Fist seems to be a bit of a dumping ground.

If Kevin Feige can make a good, successful Fantastic Four film

If there's any existing MCU actor to play Victor, I'd want it to be Ben Barnes. He's a fabulous actor and a great bad guy. He's terrific with differen't accents, and he's very charismatic.

I know people want to see him in full Jigsaw form going forward, but honestly if he could play Doom you could recast Jigsaw.

Having said that if it's not either of those guys I would want to see a mid 30's actor, and someone that could portray him in a way much like Hiddleston does Loki that you love the character even though he's the antagonist.

Logan Lerman is a bit too old for Johnny. And wasn't part of his problem when he was suggested for Peter Parker that he could do the dramatic side but not so much the fun side? That would be the same problem for Johnny Storm.

They should pull a Darth Vader with Dr Doom

No back story , no explanation , no big reveal who's behind the mask

just have him show up and kick some ass , then everyone at the end of the movie can go , who the heck was that

Victor Von Doom: Jake Gylenhaal

He's just the right age, IMO. I don't want him to be the same age as Peter. I like their relationship more as the "cool big brother annoyed by a younger sibling". Plus, forcing him to be in high school drags Sue and Reed younger than I'd want them. And I never thought he couldn't handle comedy, even though I was in the Dylan O'Brian camp back then. (Boy, that feels like FOREVER ago!)

He's a great actor. I could see him doing well as Doom.

I agree about Johnny being a bit older than Peter. That's why I want Colin Ford who's 21 now

by the time the MCU gets around to introducing the FF , Peter Parker will at least be a senior in high school , if not older yet , so making Johnny about 21 sounds about right

Jigsaw might not be the best fit. :o

He could've played Reed too.

They really need to take a page out of Star Wars for Doom. Make him very imperious and mysterious. Do they even need to cast an actor as such for Doom? They could have a body double (like Dave Prowse) and then a separate voice (like James Earl Jones).

He was actually one of my picks for Reed before he was cast in Punisher

Oh well. They kind of wasted him.

Anyway, I still want Blake Lively or discount Blake Lively (Emma Bell) for Sue.

i think JGL is just too youthful looking for reed

and i 100% want somebody european for doom
