Why? Is the 2005 film hated for its casting, or only for other reasons?

I just think that Sue's actress shouldn't be two years younger than Tom Holland who is a playing a 16 year old kid. I'm one of the biggest proponents of taking age into consideration when fan casting for these roles but I dont want the F4 to be as young as they were in Ultimate Fantastic Four. And yeah, I know Sue was In her early 20s in the original 60s run but my point still stands. The F4 need to be young enough to carry the MCU for another 12-15 years but not young enough to be peers with the local kid: Spider-Man. Only Johnny should be a peer of Peter.

That being said, Krasinski is still my number one choice for Reed

Nonono. You cast a regular actor as Doom and he'll be taking his mask off constantly, like the actors who play Peter Parker.
Doom's physical presence needs to be a buff guy in a mask working for scale while he's dubbed by a great voice actor. Maybe Vin Diesel.

The voice actor needs to be Eastern European or able to pull off an accent from that region. I wouldn't choose Vin Diesel as the voice.

You're talking like this film will come out in 2019. By 2023, which is more likely than not the earliest Kevin Feige will be willing to schedule F4 in, Tom Holland will be playing a college student. That's why I think Johnny Storm's actor should be born in 1998, 1996 at the oldest.

John Kransinksi - The obvious pick can play a leader and a bit of a likable dork which Reed needs most. To be likable to the audience even when he comes across cold.

Oscar Isaac - would bring tons of charisma and could do Reed's obsessiveness towards science without losing likability

Joseph Gordon-Levitt - an unconventional pick that would bring and interesting performance

All of them could believably play a genius who may come across a bit cold and distant at times, but is still likable and would do anything for his family.

All of these choices are fantastic(pun not intended). I would throw my hat in for James Franco as well but he's in the middle of a scandal and there's no way Marvel is going to ever cast him now.

If they acquire the rights this year (which is looking likely because the bidding war with Comcast will be over by the end of July at the latest and the DOJ moving to approve the deal) then the first F4 could easily come out in 2020 or 2021. There's no reason for Marvel to wait 5 years. The F4 could be introduced much sooner in another characters film too.

2020 is already full (GotG3, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange 2). F4 might come out in 2021 instead of The Eternals, but that would mean Feige's been lying about not using them until he's gone through his current plans, in which case it's just as likely that X-Men will come out in 2021 instead of F4.

Don't know, but Doom should 100% have an accent from there it can even be an American actor as long as they can do a convincing accent. Diesel is not the right choice.

What about Dev Patel? He'd be 5-7 years older than he was in The Man Who Knew Infinity. Reed's mother is such a non-entity in the comics that they could say he's the son of Nathaniel Richards and a Hindu woman and hardly anyone would notice.

Heck no to Dev Patel. He would be bringing back the overly nerdy image of Reed that we don't need to see again on screen. I want adventurer Reed who is a man of action, not the overly geeky Richards who would seem like he belongs on Scorpion or the Big Bang Theory.

I'm not as familiar with his work as I'm with Isaac's but from what I've seen that could definitely work.

And to keep this post on-topic, how about Imogen Poots or Sarah Gadon for Sue?

I wouldn't mind Imogen Poots. I wanted her for Crystal if there had been a proper Inhumans film, with Kate Winslet as her older sister Medusa. They look like they could be related.

Yeah she's too young. I would go with the other Peyton List.

Older Peyton List is a bit too much of a tough bad ass chick. She doesn't seem suitable at all for Sue.

Younger Peyton List is too young, but has more of the right sort of personality for Sue. If she had been older she could've worked. At the moment she seems more like she should be playing one of Peter Parker's classmates.

I quite like the idea of Tom Wlaschiha as Doom. Might be too obscure of an actor for what would surely be one of the MCU's premier villains.

Because the thing is, it's literally unheard of for an actor to do an entire film in a face mask, unless it's their very first job in the industry like Anthony Daniels in the C3PO suit. The ratio of masked/unmasked time in every Doom appearance would be... about the same as RDJ, maybe somewhat less? What percent of screen time did whatshisname from Fan4stic have his face covered?

And for a less extreme example, see Tom Hardy as Bane. Most of his face covered for the entire film save for one brief shot. It was a role that required no vanity on Hardy's part.

It's about the voice, the physicality, and above all else the eyes. Hell, Weaving didn't even have that most important asset and his V is still one of the all-time CBM performances.

Doctor Doom's mask plays an integral part in who he is - both in appearance and characterization. I doubt that is lost on someone like Feige. I also don't think the only way to deliver audiences a true Doctor Doom is to go the Darth Vader route.

Hugo Weaving WAS a voice actor; he'd voiced the stepfather dog in both Babe films before his big break as Agent Smith in the Matrix.
As far as I know, Weaving dubbed all of V' s dialogue because the mask didn't have a mic. He definitely dubbed scenes by James Purefoy and a stunt double. I don't know why you'd be dead set on a normal TV actor who's never done voice acting for a role like that.
