Totally. I was like "OHH this must be on the Golden Gate set they're building!" then I noticed that... no... no it wasn't.

Come on man, the link said something like ICEMAN'S FURY IN X3!!!!! How do you resist that? :p

OMEGA IS IN X3

Ratner mentions Omega Red: "There's Callisto [Dania Ramirez], Arclight [Omyrha Mota], and Omega Red [Vince Murdocco]. They're small parts, but they have powers. Magneto has a team now."

Was he making a mistake? I emailed Vince Murdocco, and he had no clue what was going on. First he said he was in X3, then he said he was just a stuntman.

* I know this sounds crazy, but yes, Brett made a mistake. OMEGA RED is NOT IN THE MOVIE. At one point he was in the script, but he isn't in the movie.

Mmm, well, you're right. I'd be surprised. ;) I didn't fall for it b/c someone said it was a fake before I saw the pic.

Me?

this is odd. why would ratner straight out lie like that. Unless penn simply didn't have anything to do with the omega red scene. I'll bet he's in, but it's no more than a short cameo the likes of colossus in x2. Penn would not have said he's not in if he had a full blown fight scene. Unless maybe he's supposed to be a secret character and they are trying to backpeddle

He's not ******ed. Brett made a mistake. Get over it

It must be difficult for them to face questions that ask very straightforward, spoiler-ish questions. If they say 'spoiler' we think it means 'yes', if they say anything else, we think they may be hiding things. Which they may be doing, who can blame them, i want to be blown away on the first time i see X3 (probably a media preview.. yippee!) but i will see it another 5 times after that!

im much more inclined to believe Penn over Ratner, he wrote the script and was their the whole shoot, i dont think Ratner lied on purpose he just made a mistake

Yeah, you're not in denial.

Maybe Omega's Part was cut and Ratner hasn't been told yet

i doubt that, Brett is very involved in the editing process and Penn said at one point he was in the "script" so i doubt any thing was shot with him in it....

This is getting ridiculous. First he's rumored to be in and fight Wolverine. Then the rumors are supposedly false. Then Vince Murdocco supposedly is set to play him. Then we find out he was set to just play an Omega mutant. Then in a email he says his part is cut, but in later emails he says he's playing Omega Red. Then Ratner confirms Omega Red. But now Penn says that Ratner made a mistake and Omega Red's not in the movie. So confusing!

Imo it's just best to assume he's not in now rather than get your hopes up that Penn was trying to throw us off by saying Brett made a mistake.

Penn comes across as much more of a geek who would keep track of these things, Ratner just comes across as very excited, I doubt he's always on top of the ins and outs of the X-men universe.

Walks into thread utterly amazed. So Penn said no Omega Red??? Well, Penn isn't directing the movie and has no say on what makes the film and what gets cut. Fox, producers, editing team have the final say as well as Ratner the director on what the film is finally like. Ratner said Omega Red is in the movie and I think he will still be. I don't think we will ever hear his name and that he will only receive a short cameo in a fight. Omega Red is too big of a character for Ratner to make a flub on. He mentions Callisto, Arclight, and Omega Red...how can that just slip out of his mouth??? Maybe he gave away too much and they are trying to cover it up???

Well, if Penn is the writer, he would know which characters are in or not...

So if Omega Red isn't in the final script... how can Ratner film a scene that's not there?

He secretly writes a secret page of the script in his lair just before humping Lindsey Lohan. ;)

Directors can add whatever they want and the actors are sometimes allowed to do the same. Plus we know Omega was in early drafts but Ratner just blurting out Omega Red along with Calisto and Arclight is just to fishy to me. He confirmed something there that he wasn't suppose to. Whether that be a mutant like Omega Red or Omega himself.

Think Omega symbols on Callisto and Quill

think Omega Red was in early draught

think Ratner too busy thinking about humpin Lohan to think straight

Lohan is gross...Ratner better wake up and realize he's 20 years her senior. Why would Lohan want Ratner anyways?

Maybe he makes her laugh

Hollywoods a pretty ****ed up place. Sexual and social politics are weird too.

Also, it could all just be bull****.

Plus Ratner's obviously got something cos he seems to pull the young hotties (minus serena)

Omega Red...you better be in X3...I stuck by you all this time and now I am getting wishy washy again. Ratner...do something like this again and I will make Lohan eat donuts and get normal size again. Someone needs to ask Ratner...ANT!...about this mix up.

Directors can't just add a huge SFX heavy character like Omega Red into the movie on a whim. The writers would definitely know especially since they've been pretty involved in the shooting process.

Unless they just plan on showing a quick shot of some extremely pale dude and moving on, they're going to have to a lot of SFX work with the tentacles, explaining the pheromones... hes practically a Doc Ock special effects wise, and I dont think they'll blow that much budget on a character who wouldn't even be one of the top 3-4 villains in terms of plot importance or screentime.

In my opinion Omega Red is much better off saved for the Wolverine Prequel where he can be much more important, after all he is Logan's personal enemy, he's not connected to the X-men much, he's a Wolverine villain.
