"One Universe" Marvel & DC Crossover RPG!

Is it alright if I use Lois Lane,Jimmy Olsen,Perry White,ect. as NPC's?

I know it probably is...but I wanted to make sure.

I would assume that it would be perfectly fine.

Its alright with me.

I would like to apply for an open GM position. I feel that I can bring a strong presence to this company by integrating all of the employees like a little circuit box. All integrated like a mother!!

But seriously. GM?

"One Universe" RPG SIGN-UP FORM

Screen Name: rex26

Character you would like to play and a brief description of his/her powers and Bio: Magneto; Mutant Master of Magnetism; verrrrry extensive history..but let's just say he doesn't get along with humans.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. You guys need a strong villain

2. Magneto's take on the world has always been interesting to me

3. I hope to bring an epic story arc that can involve alot of RPer's

What can you bring to this game?

A classic character that will strike fear in humans.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As many as possible

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards: Of course.

Id also like to say Ive been around these RPG's and think I have a good grasp on how they need to work to be effective and fun. I'd like to put my name out for a GM posistion to represent the bad guy's. This is a really good idea guys

Your character is totaly aproved. As far as GM's, both you and Victor Creed have both applied since I last was on, I think you both could be an asset to this RPG, so what I'll do is have a chain of command, I'll be Head GM and directly at my side will follow The RedX, you two can both be GM's but must differ all Major dicisions in major story arcs to us. Basicaly we will have two GM's for each side, and both with different character views, for example, I as Logan will represent heros, but from the perspective of the hardcore loner break your face kinda hero who kill ya if ya cross him, while The Red X as Cap. Marvel will represent the more classic superpowered individual interested in jailing criminals, and on the opposite side youll find Magneto whos interests lye in global domination and the supieriority of mutant kind, and then Sabretooth who could care less about global domination as long as he can kill anyone who crosses him, or sometimes just for the hell of it. From this point on we are no longer in need of GM's. 4 should just about be the perfect number, and with this setup we should have a fun and succesful RPG. We are in need of one more Villian I'd say and then we can get this party started.

You forgot about me :(

Plus, this whole "representation" thing seems a tad complicated and unnecesairy.

Oh im sorry I guess I just missed that post. Sorry. Ok well seeing as how yur gona be spiderman and that encompases a pretty large array of characters and basicaly a whole world within itself. So I will aprove you for assistant GM, and you will be within those such as Victor Creed and rex26, which must difer to The Red X and myself. This chain of command will help to maintain the vision of this RPG and apect of all the character types. Trust me when I tell you that the "representation" thing wont be complicated, and that it will actualy help to maintain all of the wants and needs. Seeing as we have this new development and you are now a GM I would like to keep an even number of GM's so that you may be able to work together in pairs on certain story lines I will be acepting ONE more application for assistant GM, preferably from a vigilanty character, and one differnt than spider man. Mr. Castle, maybe your interested?

Is this game going to take place here or in an alternate board, like on ezboard or something? It would be very helpful if this were on ezboard so as to avoid confusion and such.

Why would it be confusing if it were held here?

Olcanucklehead , perhapes you could put a roster up to show which characters are taken, maybe devide it into DC and Marvel.

Well, if it were here, everything would be in one single thread, so stuff that happens in Gotham would be in the same thread as stuff that happens in Metropolis which would be in the same thread as stuff that happens in New York City. It makes for one VERY jumbled narrative.

And having multiple threads would just piss off the people who frequent the forum but don't play the game. And Hype! administration is very anti-RPG for some reason.

Plus, the gamesmasters have NO moderatorial control, which is crucial for running an RPG as ambitious and expansive as this should be. With the proper amount of player support and an independent bulletin board dedicated only to this game, it could go from a sidenote in a comics forum to an independent entity.

So what if what's going on in New York and Gotham are in the same thread? That's how it is in the DC and Marvel RPGs, and they do just fine.

It will be held on SHH boards and I'm sure that it wont be a problem, as I am currently in several other RPG's. As for the citys, like Gotham and New York and Metropolis, they are all SEPERATE citys, metropolis is in Kansas will Smallville, and as for having a state for Gotham, we could chose a large state that does not yet have a superhero city, such as Texas, or florida. Or you could make it an Island outside of new york, I will leave that state decision up to Batman, as he will have the most play in that area. Red X had a good I dea, I'm going to post a full list of characters on the first Page edited into the rules and introduction post. Remember guys we need one more villain and we're ready to begin.

I'm fairly certain that Gotham is supposed to be in New Jersey.

Sure, whatever. But I ask you, how many players do you think have shyed away from these games because of the cluttered nature of them? I'm one of them, for sure... not to mention, well.... when I was going to do the Young Avengers RPG, it became obvious after two posts that it was gonna suck ass...

I'm just offering constructive criticism, is all. I've been around these online RPG things for a while now, and in my experience, the ones with their own boards just have things better set up.

I mean, imagine if say, three comicbooks were melded into one book, and each story was told in alternating pages? Cluttered, yeah.

Not really. I mean, comics like New Fronteir were told from different character's perspectives interchangingly.

Agreed...I think it should just be a crossover universe where real cities and DC cities are combined. Most are in seperate areas, we should come up with a map and have actual designated spots and states for each city. Characters should be recognized as they are in their own continuity ie. identity; popularity; threat level. For example, Cap will still be the symbol of America as he is in Marvel and Superman will still be the iconic symbol he is in his respective universe, kinda like that? Everyone maintains the level they were at just accepts the fact that these other characters exist.

That's different. I'm talking about say, you have a Superman story, an X-Men story, and an Archie story all in one book, with the three different stories alternating pages.

I strongly suggest at least looking into creating a free forum for this game. It's apparently not hard, and games that stand on their own are a whole lot of fun if run properly.

Plus, hey... what kind of gamesmaster WOULDN'T want moderatorial control over his own game?

You have a point there. But then, these RPGs tend to come together into one big arc as they go along, so it ends up making more sense.

Well I can put one worry to rest........Archie, will NEVER be aproved. LOL. As far as Moderational control I trust the MODs here. And for intagrateing all sorts of perspectives, it WONT be a problem, look at the fantastic work done in the "Ultimate RPG", your cronstructive critisism is apreciated, but I'm sure we can manage.

Okay, then.... good luck. I will watch your game, and if it's as good as you say it will be, you shall have Ultron to face.

Sounds cool. Ok I just posted the list on the opening page, I hope I was right about King Cobra being DC, I dont know much about him, but I think he was DC.

I thgink he's the Marvel Cobra. This guy:
