he'd pass for a sith lord way before he passes for Apocalypse. And yes he does look like Palpatine. they got the same skinny long nose.

He does have the same long nose bridge.

Yea, though Apocalypse's is more straight edged. They still don't look alike though.

You know what I'd find amazing, if the X-Men are all defeated and then Wolverine comes and skewers Apocalypse just cause Bryan Singer wants to screw with everyone.

naw singer put wolvie in his place the last film

so much for being a survivor
like thats my favorite scene in x-men i think so far

This episode shows how they could beat Apoc, and it makes the most sense IMO. Closing a tomb while he is asleep seems pretty thoughtless to me in comparison. I just don't see it being that easy or the movie being good if its that easy.

Launching him into space? I don't know. Think I would just prefer balls to the wall fight at end with brutal ending of Magneto ripping Apocalypse apart. But that Beast/Ship stuff would be really cool if there was a way to work it in.

Between Magneto in FC and Mystique in DOFP, the "villains" seem to be the ones to save the day. Can we get the X-men to step up please?

X1, villain didn't save the day.
X2, villain didn't save the day.
The Wolverine, villain didn't save the day.

And in DoFP, Mystique was never the villain.

Where did I mention X1, X2, The Wolverine?

Sure, let's again have Magneto defeat the villain after he did the same thing in FC.

Considering it's called X-men, it's not too much to ask for the "X-men" to defeat the big bad in X-men: Apocalypse.

He looks more like palpatine than he does apocalypse. If palpatine put on blue face paint, they would both look equally close to what Apocalypse looks like. Which is not at all close.

My inner fanboy wants to see Jean Phoenix up and take down Apocalypse. Phoenix vs. Apocalypse. Perfection.

But that's deus ex machina territory and probably isn't the best story to tell.

I think we should see Storm turn on Apocalypse and unleash her powers on him at some point.

I think he looks and sounds awesome.

Granted I've never been a huge fan of how he looks in the comics.

Yes! Give this man a cookie

As for the Apocalypse=Palpatine, a nose being similar if not the same to me does not make for a good argument

Can somebody with skills put palpatines blue face inside Apocalypse helmet and see what we get?

I'd love to see Jean Grey be the one to take him down! Or a joint effort between her, Storm and Cyclops.

Obviously the joint effort works the best.
I mean can you imagine an Xmen movie where they use teamwork to take out the big baddie?

But yeay my own inner fanboy wants that replay where Cyclops destroys Apocalypse.

Maybe Apoc beats the Xmen to their edge and Phoenix is released in her rage and shes eventually brutally taken down which keys off Cyclops and he blasts Apocalypse to infinity like the comic. Mega optoc blaaaassssst

I think joint effort take downs are probably quite hard to do since you need to do it in a good rhythm and in a way that makes sense

Even the avengers movies didn't have joint take downs, esp AOA which if you seen it you know who gets the final take down

If your agreeing it wasn't Galactus bad, then thumbs up. If you think its not as bad as Apoc, then your saying Apoc is horrible because Juggs was horrible. Juggs is close to the Hulk in size. In the movie he was smaller than half of the pro wrestlers in the WWE. Were talking about a film in the year 2000 that is using "Lou Forigno Hulk" aesthetics. Its embarrassing. Every movie should be visually stunning with the technology we have now.

That's all it really is you know....
I mean why not?...the technology is finally there to bring these characters to full life on the big screen the way so many have been waiting for. Marvel gets it. WB/DC looks like they get it now. But not the X-franchise. God forbid the X-franchise give us a comic accurate X-men. The world would end as we know it don't you know.

It all comes across as Singer and co. being obtuse honestly. We already know he never really wanted to follow the comics and the only reason we're seeing anything closer to the comics in the X-franchise is because of the ridiculous success of the MCU. I suspect Singer is begrudgingly leaning closer to the comics.

I think the whole "serious, realistic, gritty" take are really nothing more than an excuse to use when directors and studios don't know how to handle a property with more fantastic elements. It's easier to play it safe and just fall back on what's easier and more familiar. What they don't understand is the audiences love seeing "the fantastic" on screen. I truly believe that is one of the main reasons Marvel is succeeding beyond anyone else's belief. They dared to believe in their characters and stories (I know, what a concept!) and put them on screen as they were intended in all they're incredible, special fx laden, fantastical glory.

All this time most studios were so afraid and claimed the more fantastical elements simply couldn't be done. Now that Marvel has done it, and is widly successful, everyone wants to poo poo their success and dismiss their films as silly and campy.

Fans keep waiting and expecting the next X-film will be the "one". But it never happens--just teases here and there form the comics to hopefully shut the fans up.

All that said...in the end I have no doubt we will get a quality film, but like all the others, it will leave you unsatisfied, wanting and wishing why didn't they just do xyz? That's become a hallmark of the X-franchise. you're always left unsatisfied and wondering what could've been.

Sad thing is, they've done it so many times stockholm syndrome has clearly set in...and that is truly sad.
