Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse

Ive never been worried about the X-Men villains because I think they are always done well. Even deathstrike though a minor role was good for her action sequences and didn't feel left out.

Bryan Singer or someone from the crew (can't remember it) posted a picture on social media with the characters from the comics wearing their AOA outfits.

Well if he's a 1 and done kind of villain, maybe.

Singer & Kingberg were researching AoA and posted either a spread or a cover. I can't recall.

It was just a desktop background. I see little resemblance to AoA though (aside from the title, which they even ended up taking out the "Age of" part). It's just a recognizable name casual fans associate with Pocky.

hmm... maybe that's not what psylockolossus meant.

Speaking of X-Men: Apocalypse, the actor [Oscar Isaac] explained what made him decide to take the role.

“My first comic book I ever collected was ‘X-Factor’ and I actually really loved Apocalypse,” Isaac says. “And yeah, so when I heard that maybe that would be the next villain, I was like, ‘Guys, get me in there, I want to meet with them’…Apocalypse is so cool and weird and scary and I wanted to be a part of that”

Isaac also went on to say that he would be on set for the film, that his role wouldn’t be entirely motion capture, but that he didn’t know all of the details yet.

I pray that we get a full costume/make-up pic of Isaac as Apocalypse around SDCC.

I'm excited for all the viral sites like 2013 comic con and DOFP.

Coming up you're doing two movies that are totally fantastical, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and X-Men: Apocalypse. You're playing the title character in the latter, a blue villain previously seen in Days of Future Past moving pyramid bricks with his hands. How do you begin to research that?

You find something that makes it interesting for you. With X-Men, it's about why this woman who invented Apocalypse, [writer] Louise Simonson, she was tasked with: make a new arch-villain. She said, "OK, I'll make the embodiment of the Second Coming with the Four Horseman and all." That's scary ****. So I'm curious about that. What's the philosophical expression behind the apocalypse? What apocalypse means, which comes from the Greek for "to reveal." To lift back the curtain.

Yeah he's like the only guy in the world who grew up a X-Factor fan instead of X-Men

You have so much going on. Your schedule must be insane. X-Men: Apocolypse is next, right?
I have some down time, but I’ll start that up next month in Montreal.

You were a fan of the maniacal ancient villain, Apocalypse, who you will be playing, right?
X-Factor was the first comic book that I collected as a kid. And not a ton of them, because — and I’m still this way — serial entertainment is a little tough for me because I have commitment issues. So like six episodes in I’m like OK, that’s good. But yeah, I was a big fan of it. But also I was obsessed with the End of Times and The Revelation, so when I saw a comic book that was an embodiment of the second coming and the end of the world, I was like, woah!

Did you go after the role or did they come to you?
A little bit of both. I definitely was like, “Hey man, I’m really into this character. I don’t know if he’s going to be in anything but it seems like he’ll be the logical next villain so let me know if that comes up.” And they were like, “Yeah he did come up, and you’re at a place now where they’re kind of interested in you.”

Are you ready for Star Wars and X-Men to make your blow up, fame-wise?Yeah, you also can never tell how things are going to do or what things are going to be. And I think for me too is what’s fun is that I like to physically change quite a bit from role to role too. And also with my body of work at this point, I’m not concerned that I’ll be put in this box.

This guys is about to get huge!

Hopefully Star Wars establishes him as a household name and he brings a load of those fans to XM:A.

^ it's a good thing Singer's got a sci-fi take on X-Men.

Heh, Meyers is such a fan, he always asks X-actors about the films..

He was that weird kid that preferred X-factor over X-men. LOL

Atleast it seemed like he only read up on the Cyclops/Jean/Hank/Angel/Bobby X-factor though so that's a plus :oldrazz:

Since it's confirmed that Archangel is going to be Death, I feel like these should be the other three Horsemen

Famine - Holocaust. He's always been my favorite Famine. Mostly because of the father/son dynamic which in effect makes him an evil Cyclops. Partially because I like his design with the containment suit.

Pestilence - Sugar Man. I just like the design. That and I dislike Plague. There's a reason why Plague was killed off in Fall of the Mutants and replaced with Caliban switching sides. If Sugar Man's effects are too expensive, Ichisumi can substitute for him. Regardless, I want to see Pestilence be the first Horseman to die and be replaced with Dark Beast as Hank becomes the traitor on the team.

War - I dislike Abraham Keiros and Gaxer. Marvel owns the rights to Hulk and I'm not sure if Deathbird is with Fox considering she may be part of the Ms. Marvel rights and even if she isn't, she'd require way too much setup for a role which may not have any speaking lines. Exodus is the natural choice since he has ties to Apocalypse from back during the Crusades but there's a better option. Havok. I like the idea of him resurfacing as an enemy just so we know how he's related to Cyclops and have the added punch of one of Xavier's first allies resurface as an enemy after 20 years.

I really doubt a Horseman named Holocaust in mainstream media bro. I just really doubt that.

I don't see why not. It's a movie about an apocalyptic mutant.

Either way, there's a strange documentary series about aliens on Netflix that got me thinking. Some people speculate that the "Great Flood" from the Old Testament could have been a massive genetic purge, with Noah's Ark being a DNA bank for the species that would be preserved for Earth's future (engineered by aliens). I'm sure it's been used in sci-fi before, but what if they somehow related Apocalypse to that? If he built the Ancient Pyramids, he was definitely around by Noah's time.
