Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse

If you don't like it, fine. Don't pretend like there's nothing from the comics in this visual. Because that's simply not true..

Agreed with this. He isn't grey and oversized but other than that he's on point

It's like some of you see it as your duty to just about trip over yourself just so you can attack posters who don't simply fawn over every detail shown. Why so precious all the time?

It isnt that, the issues come from ridiculous comparisons. Someone else said it on another thread I think. The initial though of Ivan Ooze is fair enough but when people are actually saying he looks like him that is just stupid because he doesn't at all.

Like The Guard said, the costume clearly takes lots of points from the character throughout all his iterations yet because Isaac isnt 8ft tall and built like a tank, or because he doesnt have black or dark lips (which actually arent the colour of his lips in the comics) people still have issues about him. And that is what is silly. It is fair enough that people don't like the costume but having something critical comes with something to back it up, not just flaming the Ooze card or the Not accurate enough.

I would have just preferred for Isaac to get a more collosal look for his equally towering performance. Oh well. Even the height on the cover would've been fine, but he looks silly and I can't take him seriously when he's as short as storm..

I've started to notice that over time, certain people in this forum take others opinions WAY too seriously or give to much relevance to them when it comes to this franchise.

I don't have a problem with the look, some people don't like it, who cares - you don't have to agree with everyone. At the end of the day we're all still going to be sitting in the same movie on May 27th so who cares? lol

This. And no one has been attacked. You're all welcome to your opinion. But facts are facts

Outside of making Apocalypse completely CGI (like Colossus in deadpool) I don't know that much could be improved from what we've been given.

I think the lack of black lips/lines on the face is what is throwing the look off. That and the unnecessary nose/chin prosthetics.

They could've forced perspective'd Isaac :argh:

In all honesty, I doubt this will be the one size that we'll see from this take on Apocalypse. It might not be as intimidating as some would like, but I'm fine with Isaac's natural height being the "normal" height that the character uses through out the film.

Isaac's natural height isn't all that tall though. He is only about 5'8". That doesn't look intimidating at all next to many other actors who will be taller than that. They could've given him lifts and at least made him over 6ft.

I know that he's not that tall. Sure, it'd be nice to see a bigger Apocalypse, but I'm fine with the approach that Singer is seemingly going for. I think Isaac is more than capable enough to create an intimidating presence for the character by the strength of his acting chops.

I seen better Apocalypse cosplays than this....

Just the lips and the eyes make a huge difference. I love this. I don't care much about the size tho but it's good.

I really hope they can add this 2 small details. Makes a huge difference.

Exactly being tall and massive doesn't make you intimidating. It's from within. I walk next to a big guy and don't feel threatened but I've seen small men who have this thing about them that looks dangerous and I walk away. People take the idea that Apocalypse needs to be big to do damage. Not really. His powers and his demeanor should be enough. I still am a fan of the look. The practical look they're going for plus the extra effects they do which we haven't seen yet will be great.

The thing is that Apocalypse has always been bigger than other mutants both in height and bulk, even when he hasn't grown but at normal height. Him being shorter than others at 5'8" is really quite lacking, especially if they could've given him lifts. Marvel manage to make RDJ look taller in the Iron Man armour, and at least as tall as Chris Evans.

Yes and tbey've said that he can change his size and mass. I'm sure we will see it people just need to be patient lol. Let's be happy we got these reveals. Definitely a surprise seeing as how with DoFP we didn't see much of anything this early.

Looking at the top banner on the EW twitter page, and seeing his face in closer detail, I'm actually really starting to dig it. That's really an intimidating looking motherf***er.

Speaking as someone who's read very, very, very few X-Men comics...my problem with Apocalypse isn't that he doesn't look the way he does in the books, it's that he looks kind of silly in general. I think Singer could've done better.

Singer's history with casting Villains speaks for itself. I have no worries that Apocalypse will be frightening.

Apocalypse was going to look kinda like a Power Rangers villain regardless. Have the complainers read the comics? At least the character has high quality production values (and a great and serious actor playing him).

Unless they changed him drastically, like into a military or scientist character.

Some people want Sinister. I can just imagine the outrage if Sinister looks anything close to the comics.

yes, which is why people are complaining
