Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse

That Thanos doesn't look real? He looked more *in* the scene than the future Sentinels looked IMO. They looked cool but also like CGI, wrongly lit etc.

Look at that Apocalypse cosplay a few pages back, that is dedication from people who want to make the character look real and straight off the page. If its CGI thats the problem, do it the way that cosplayer did

Also this purple/blue Ooze villain doesn't look anything like the grey skinned, blue lipped kid at the end of DOFP.
Well Apocalypse won't have the same problem you have with the Sentinels then. Problem solved for you.

Don't the cosplayers prove that the character doesn't have to be CGI? So your issue is actually with the design, not the practical effects. An accurate Apocalypse would still look like a Power Rangers character, just one you're used to.

Apocalypse looks purple because of the lighting in the picture. It's hard to really see the skin colour of the character at the end of DOFP because of the light/shadows. And Apocalypse is, what, 3000 years old? Why can't he have undergone some transformations, especially after finding that tech.

Thanos will look no better than how Kilowog looked in Green Lantern.

Thanos might look comic accurate but he's already falling in the lame villain category that Marvel goes through. And to add to that be all excited about Thanos. We've seen like a total of 5 minutes of him and that has been kind of lame and we still won't see much of him until 2018. Long time to wait for this character. The lines of dialogue Apocalyose says in that leaked footage already hold so much more weight to what I've seen from Thanos. And we get Apocalypse next year too. Just cause Marvel do a good job visually doesn't mean anything. They might get the comic accurate right but there's other things that they lack. Visually maybe X-Men haven't done that with Apocalypse but once it's all together on screen people will be eating their words.

Good job........After what happened to Mandarin and Ultron?

They should really remove the large shoulder armor so he would look more as Apocalypse.

isn't Apocalypse a shape-shifter anyway? There's a chance we'll see variations, like the one in the teaser at the end of DOFP or maybe even one au naturel :awesome:

Well, if Mystique is naked, it's only fair to have a male shapeshifter naked too. :o

Mandarin, Ultron, Ronan, Whiplash, Malekith are all the same. There motivations are all the same. Loki, Hydra and Red Skull they were fantastic. But so far the rest. Marvel have built up their heroes perfectly but forget to balance it out with the villains. Fox have less villains overall but their villains have so many layers. All of this is more important to me than looks. I'm sure others will agree.

Add me to the group happy that Apocalypse isn't CGI. Thanos is the least intimidating villain I've seen in a long while. I hope Marvel turns that around before he becomes the main threat.

Don't get me wrong though, the costume here is lame. It both went too far, and not far enough. He looks silly so ornately designed and yet so small. I'd honestly prefer a tamer version as it would give us more of Isaac. I have I have faith that he'll look better in action.

I said it a while ago that although I like the look of Oscar Isaac, to me he looks more like a Mr. Sinister than an Apocalypse.

Just not sure that a 5'-8" Apocalypse can work. My hope was that they would do a little movie magic and make him appear larger, but unfortunately, from what we've been shown, that does not appear to be the case!

They do and they will

Who here is arguing the villain motivation?? You guys dont need to remind me of the one note Marvel villains. X2 Stryker is still one of the best Marvel villains IMO. But that's no excuse for this. I'm a huge Singerverse fan, I want it to keep going. But I'm not blind either.

Here's the thing about his size. We have only seen him in recruiting mode. I don't think towering over those you are trying to win over is the best idea. Let's wait to see him in battle before we start creating minipocgate.

I want him towering over others in his normal size, not only during battle.

I know some are worried that he's too small, but also that he uses mind control.

But didn't Isaac say he more or less plays on their needs and gets them to come over through their own free will?

And the footage clearly was playing on that. A lot of talk about him has him making faustian deals with the horsemen. I don't think him being able to control mutants is his goal.

But I also remember one of the lines was "he can control all of us." But again, it's not mind manipulation...just playing on their needs/insecurities.

My complaint with the Apocalypse costume is that although the armor looks magnificent (COMPLIMENT!), he just looks like some short guy in blue paint (Mystique from DOFP!). I'm also worried whatever they did to Oscar Isaac's face (prosthetics?) would look distracting on screen.

Honestly I'd be happy if the went with this look:

Yes shirtless (Isaac has the body for it) and only wearing a that futuristic/alien loincloth thing. Tentacles. Maybe even barefoot. And bigger. More imposing. Broader shoulders.

Looking at that Enterntainment Weekly cover I think the blue lips and photoshopped eyes would do wonders.

Also his face. In the pics they showed he looks sad or bored. In the cover he is like...

I like the design but this made me lol. Luckily Isaac will be able to emote and react believably thanks to the practical effects.

Doubtful with Magus coming in. He's gonna steal Thanos' thunder. Smh.

One thing i didn't like is how he doesn't have the iconic tentacles on his arms but he has them near his head.
