And this kind of procedure was used to make this suit? Technology hasn't advanced since BB? I'd take not knowing rather than thinking I know.
Dude, I have watched tons of documentaries on costume design. Maybe inform yourself before asking uninformed questions.

The fundamental underlying latex/urethane casting technology has not changed since Batman 89. That is why the Nolan sequels and several MCU films have tried to move to other superhero suit construction types.

There have been advances in the detail of the moulds and sculpts due to 3d modeling and other advancements, but the core process is the same. If it wasn't going to change in the almost 20 years between Batman 89 and Begins it is not going to fundamentally change in the following 20 years.

In fact, all of those advances in more detailed sculpts have actually made it harder to alter the suits after the fact because of the intricacies of the textures/designs used. See below video at 3:30 where they discuss how the Aquaman suit from last year's Lost Kingdom needed to have the entire texture re-rendered if they wanted to make any small alterations:

But if that is the case, all of this begs the question why not reshoot it? They didn't release the photo until halfway through principal photography.

Before Casino Royale came out, EON released a much criticized reveal photo of Daniel Craig as Bond (from his screen test) well before production began:

When they decided to revamp his look for production they reshot it with his final hair and wardrobe:

It’s amazing what a better haircut can do. Craig looks like a guy dressed up as Bond for Halloween in the first pic but he IS Bond in the second.

@flickchick85 now that we have some very clear photos of Daily Planet Clark, you knew this post was coming.

I am in love with what they did with David's costume design as Clark. The suit jacket has a relaxed fit with wide shoulders, which helps conceal his Superman build in contrast to Henry's very fitted tailoring as Clark Kent that showed all of his muscles.

I can't tell for certain, but it appears that the suit jacket may even be double-breasted, which is a great reference to classic Superman comics while actually being consistent with current trends (they are coming back especially with fashionable younger Millennials and Zoomers). Which is also a match for his dorky Zoomer haircut. Even if the jacket is single-breasted, the peak lapels are still a very nice homage to the archetypal depiction of Clark Kent in a double breasted suit.

Also, love how he wears his suit with what appears to be a classic All-American button down shirt. It adds a certain relaxedness that offsets the formality of the double-breasted cut/peak lapels.

Just as important as the clothes is how he is wearing them. The collar button is undone and the tie loose. The jacket is left open. All of this gives the overall impression of a relaxed and/or slightly sloppy image. Perfect match for a hard-working investigative journalist who is possibly sleeping in his clothes or alternatively slipping them back on in mere milliseconds in an alleyway while rushing back from a disaster.

Aren’t you glad those poor randos in the restaurant that had their pics plastered all over the internet were indeed poor randos and not stand-ins? :funny:

The lady was dressed very nicely for Lois and there was someone on set Monday dressed almost the same with the same haircut... So I am still a tiny bit saddened we aren't getting Lois with a Bob (we know she can rock it from Maisal).

But yeah, this is a massive improvement for Clark's wardrobe. Happy that my gut was right that a cutaway collar shirt with contrasting buttons really isn't Clark-like at all.

Her admission that she didn't know much about Ulysses left my impression of her as a Superman expert utterly shattered.
It's okay. I forgot The Eradicator existed until watching Superman & Lois. :cheeky:

Damn I guess we are getting aura power. Lame
It's stuuuupid. It takes away any agency if supes can just grab the win of a jumbo jet with his fingers and bring it to the ground because "aura". Poo poo dumb.

Remains to be seen. A bus is a very different proposition from holding a plane by a wing tip. The bus could have a strong subframe added for him to carry it like that.

I agree on principle. However, when I watched MOS for the first time one of the things I liked about it was when Superman's first flight is shown, when he's out in the ice and snow. A second or two before he launches, we see small pebbles and dust surrounding his fist slowly rise from the ground and start circling. This suggests that some sort of field is generated in and around his body when he flies which can potentially affect other objects too, and is not just strictly limited to only his body. Is it some type of anti-gravity which he subconsciously controls? Maybe. But I liked the idea that when he's trying to hold or move something much, much larger and heavier than himself, that field can extend to it and lessen the effect of gravity on obvious stress points. It's not just a mythical aura then, but a beneficial side effect from the same power that allows him to defy gravity.
