Our "Space Princess": David Corenswet IS Clark Kent/Superman!

I can't do the Speedo trunks. They need to be more in the short shorts arena than swimming Speedos. *trying hard to not use Aussie lingo for these termsScreenshot_20231223-024505.png
I really think this is the best cut for the trunks.

I can compromise on the trunks as long as the S is put back on the cape.

David’s odd friend who gave us those…intriguing fashion TikTok’s has started a podcast, and says David will be on episode 6. Would be kinda hilarious if this where he gives his first interview since being cast. :hehe:

Personally I'm not a fan of Fleischer's suit/colour scheme or variations of it, BUT if we must have it & if it looked this good on screen I'd be pleased 100%. I'd still like to avoid having any black on Superman's suit though personally.

The classic variant of that fan art above it is literally perfection;

I'm not sure where I am on the whole trunks saga, I think Cavill's & Hoechlin's suits without have both looked fine I think without. Most of the drawn suits look fine also, I'm leaning more to having them though because I would like them to go really classic with the suit.

Yeah, that cape looks a little short to me but I don’t need Superman’s cape constantly dragging on the ground. It’s unsanitary!
I like a little longer than above but not too long.

I'm sure there's a formula out there to calculate max cape efficiency which achieves the highest possible net satisfaction from all invested parties in all possible Supes cape positions. :cwink:

I'm usually team long cape as I LOVED that look for Superman, especially during Lois & Clark and the Return Of Superman, but I hope this time around we get some closer to Fleischer or even Superman: TAS.

I'd love for the cape to be a little shorter. Right around calf area, but well above the ankle.

As Edna Mode pointed out, capes are not practical. But in my view, longer capes (in addition to looking more majestic) convey an impression of purpose and functionality — even if there isn’t one. Whereas, shorter capes tend to highlight their own uselessness.

When he was on Supergirl, Hoechlin sported a cape that was close to floor-length (pretty much the same as Cavill’s). Likewise for the Supergirl versions of J’onn J’onzz and Mon-El. But Supergirl, herself, had a knee-length cape. That’s too short IMO.

We’re still a ways away from seeing him in costume, but I do kind of wish we could get a photo shoot/interview like the one Entertainment Weekly did for Henry shortly after his casting was announced. Would really like to know his thoughts.

They could use a picture of him on the suit he screen tested with, probably Reeve’s.

Does David just not do interviews, generally? It’s kinda weird that we haven’t heard anything from him since being cast. I mean, all I care about is that he gives a great performance but given that I know he referred to Superman as his “pie in the sky” role in the past, I would love to hear from him about how it felt to get the call and all that.

I am not surprised we will not be getting any of the stuff we want until after production has ended, considering this movie will not be released for another 18 months. Would love to see something but not expecting a push until next year's Super Bowl. Why waste your ammo now, it will be more important in the future.

David does do interviews usually when he has a project attached, he has in the past. I do wonder if the Cavillistas and their backlash has anything to do with him being in a communication black out, there is less to attack him for and about, if he is in radio silence. He used to post often on his IG page, but that has been silent since the last Netflix movie. He could also be radio silent because he is enjoying his first year of marriage, and is having too much fun. Sadly I don't believe he has any projects coming out between now and Legacy that would give us an opportunity to see him talk, or be in that position.

I get the feeling they’re waiting on that kind of thing til he’s in full-on Superman shape and they are ready to unveil the costume. I’m not sure a photoshoot back at the time of casting would’ve done anything to dispel the “scrawny Superman” discourse that was already happening on Twitter. I’m sure EW will get a set visit once they’re in production where we can hopefully get some good interviews.

He does plenty of interviews when he's promoting something. He's never really been famous enough to do interviews outside of that yet lol. So he'll do interviews on this whenever WB tells him to.
