Paramount Dumps Tom Cruise

click the links. With him in it, it might mean that the Eye will be good.

IMDB is unreliable with projects that early in development. They also had Tom Cruise as Iron Man for a period of time.

'The Few'.... Michael Mann and Tom Cruise again. Should be great.

I really hope cruise or alba is anywhere near the eye, thats one of my best japanese movies, I would hate to see alba butcher it

What has happened with some of my favorite actors? First Tom Cruise and now Mel Gibson? :(

He's done some good work, the stand outs being Born on the 4th of July, A Few Good Men, Interview with the Vampire, Collateral, Minority Report and arguably The Last Samurai. And Mission: Impossible 1 (the first one) nad War of the Worlds were not bad action flicks.

But he is SUCH a jackass. I mean a real pompous mother****er. I'm sure some of our favorite actors are, but the thing is they keep a low profile and let the work speak for itself. He does not do this because over the last decade he's gotten to thinking he's god and he has the right to say and do whatever he wants and people will listen.

That really PISSED people off and MI3 bombed at the box office because of it. But he'll rebound he'll just disappear for a year or two come back with a new blockbuster in 2008 or 2009 after reestablishing himself with some indie cred (think Magnolia) and then he'll be back on top then.

Oh and Mel Gibson is a good actor but he has always been anti-semantic, he just hid it from the public pretty well. I mean c'mon his father wrote about how the Holocaust never happened, it was no surprise between that and The Passion of the Christ that he was anti-semetic.

Too bad, he's done some good work (Braveheart, Maverick, Lethal Weapon, The Man with No Face, Signs and he was an astonishing and underrated Hamlet) but his ego has gotten relaly big too though.

Let me see if I understand this correctly, Paramount is basically saying, "Tom, you have to take a paycut! No no no, don't get us wrong, we still want you to keep making movies that bring in upwards of +$400,000 worldwide, we just want to have the profits, not you!"

Tom Cruise is one of the most charasmatic and identifiable actors of all time... Some actors have a few great roles that define their careers. Just about every movie he made was a hit in some fashion or other. For two decades he was simply untouchable!!!!

^ no matter how much people dislike his public antics, there's no denying his fame is well deserved and his talent is great

I agree, he's has alot of talent and I like his movies.

I don't blame Paramount. He must be an absolute nightmare to work with, e.g. refusing to promote MI:3 unless they pulled the South Park Scientology episode. Despite his talent, he's arrogant as hell and Paramount probably actually decided dealing with his antics isn't worth it.

Sumner Redstone is a way bigger *****e than Tom Cruise could ever hope of being.

This couldn't have happened to a nicer scientologist. :)

I agree and i love those films...well not cocktail but i digress...Cruise was untouchable for 2 decades, the only person that could bring him down was himself and he did just that bursting his own bubble, very sad

He didn't bring himself down, the media did.

I was never a big fan of Tom Cruise, but sometimes I'd sit through his films if the film itself looked interesting. Now I can't stand him.

Well Tom, what comes around goes around. No more couch-hopping for you buddy. :(
