Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice

Bumping this to say I just got the book to prepare myself for this. :funny:

If filming starts this month hopefully we'll be getting some casting announcements soon.

So, filming starts at the end of this month with WB financing and Kevin O'Connor (AKA Daniel Plainview's brother from another mother :funny:) is in the cast as someone.

Get Gary Oldman in this, Anderson. I beg you.

Finally, he's another good movie. Stay away from stuff like 'The Internship". Stick with stuff like this, Wes Anderson stuff, and Midnight in Paris.

Great news. Owen can be amazing under the right direction, and you can't get more right than PTA.

So far we have:

Joaquin Phoenix
Reese Witherspoon
Owen Wilson
Benicio Del Toro
Kevin J. O'Connor
Martin Short
Jena Malone

I quite like how this cast is shaping up. Getting two PTA films in the span of 2 years(assuming this comes out during Oscar season of 2014) is great news.

Also, Magnolia is great. All of PTA's films are great, even Sydney.

I am excited that a Pynchon book is finally being translated to the screen. However, with the wave of mass publicity, I hope he still retains his anonymity; I really do not want to see an image of him.

First look of Joaquin Phoenix on set, which also shows that Maya Rudolph has a small role in the film.

I have to say Maya Rudolph looks, uh, unflattering in the role PTA cast for her. But maybe that was they wanted.

Maya Rudolph usually looks cute, but that massive baby bump and unflattering wardrobe isn't doing her any favors. She barely looks recognizable.

Do not like Magnolia. It's the only PTA film I don't like.

This has just spring leaped to my most anticipated film of 2014!

So excited to see a few set pics! I'm not going to lie though, I was hoping John C Reilly would be involved somewhere with this. The vibe of 'Vice' is right up his alley and I'd love to see PTA and Reilly work together for a fourth time.

Magnolia is easily my favorie PTA movie, and also in my top ten favorite movies ever. Just pure brilliance. Punch-Drunk-Love is probably my least favorite, though I still do like it.
