Jim Broadent does look just like Pengy - but I have never seen him act, so I cant infront of him.

I right now am fancying Joe Pantoliano, Phillip Seymore Hoffman or Paul Giamatti

I right now am not at all fancying Timothy Spall.

Norman....ever see Gangs of New York with DiCaprio and Daniel Day Lewis? If so, Broadbent was Boss Tweed in that movie. He was very good as the historical New York Mayor.

Just saying because i was unware that was him until i looked his name up after being mentioned on here and it said that. I liked him in that role.

It was good, not the best.........was just pointing it out because it's the most recent movie i seen Jim Broadbent in.

Im still with Suchet, Broadbent OR JOE PESCI!! lol

Pesci would be awesome, he's amazingly brutal in both casino and goodfellas, i dont think people could get over the fact thats joe pesci up on the screen, not the penguin.

Perhaps...he hasnt done anything in 8 years, and he said he would come back and do any movie as long as the character was intresting and the scirpt was very good.

He said he really will come back and do a character he can blend into and give everything he's got and get into it, otherwise...why come back.

I personally would love Pesci as Penguin. I wouldnt be amazed and he wouldnt take away from everyone else to. PESCI DAMNIT!! lol

Actually the more I look at Jim Broadbent the more I think yeah he could actually make a decent Penguin. He's a brilliant actor and he's more than Professor Kirke from Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Gangs Of New York.

To me, he looks like he'd be more fit to play Salvatore Maroni. At least in that picture. I hope that Philip Seymour gets the part of the Penguin.

Bob Hoskins without a doubt! Look at pics of him on IMDB....and you will know he is Penguin. Plus he would probably be cheaper than Hoffman.

Paul Giamatti
oh no, no, he needs to be The Ventriloquest

as far as Penguin goes, there's a few actors i could see in the role...

Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Bob Hoskins
Joe Pesci

I'm telling you guys, hit those links in my last post just to check them out.

Stephen Fry was on the old Whose Line Is It Anyways when it aired in London. That guy talks so fat and with that annoying British accent. Can he even speak "American?" haha

it looks like S Hoffman is out of the running as Penguin (thank goodness IMO) seems like he is set to start filming another movie with the writer from Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind directing.

Hoskins as Penguin dammit!

I used to be stuck on Hoskins but I'm really warming up to the idea of Hoffman lately. For the record, he's not tall by any means. He's 5'9" which is average height at best and I'm sure he could easily be made to look shorter.

Bob Hoskins - no more conversation...

And his voice - he already has a gargled rough voice - somehow i can hear him doing the perfect penguin laugh.

(quick manips by me)

Ian McShane for me. IMO he has the look, voice and attitude for The Penguin. I'm also hoping that the Bat-foes in the new Batman movies are treated more like a community than cut and paste, "its your turn" type villians.

Exactly....plus they wouldn't need to put any facial prothetics on him either. He already has the physical realism of Cobblepot/Penguin. Just as long as he doesn't go over the top....he would be perfect!

Yeah....Ian McShane is my second choice behind Hoskins for Penguin. I'm not a big Seymour Hoffman fan for Penguin....

Pesci wouldn't fit in with Nolan IMO. Now if it was a Scorsese Batman film....then Pesci would work for Penguin. LOL
