Apologies if this has been discussed somewhere... but I cant seem to find where it HAS been discussed. Please merge if necessary.

What is with the scene in the teaser when Parker is in kind of a trance when he has the fly in his hand...he looks like he's about to eat it! ....Before Aunt May snaps him out of it.

Okay, are they trying to do some kind of cross over between Seth Brundle in The Fly??? Because what with the spider bite in his neck ... (Im guessing some spider blood, venom or saliva) has made it's way to Peter's spinal cord? Thus affecting his central and peripheral nervous system? Its a good angle.

But is THAT what they are trying to do? Make Peter literally more "spider" than man? It just seems weird. Why then are you going for mechs over organic web shooters? Surely the organics would be a fit if you're going down the becoming half an organic spider route. (Although I have always been for the mechanics)

What I DO think is pretty cool is a hunch of mine, upon seeing the teaser, that Dr Connors may be indirectly part responsible for the spider transformation .... isn't it in Connors lab that Peter gets bitten? Possibly.

Along with working on Lizards, possibly Connors is also looking at other species and their regenerational (is that a word?) capacities to find the best biological model to base his arm re-growth on ....or perhaps modifying species via genetic modification or radioactivity (cough cough such as particular spiders cough cough) to see how this would affect their abilities to regenerate certain body parts .... I dunno.

But looking good so far.

my favorite scene in the trailer by far.

I guessed he did some Mr. Miyagi sh** and caught it. He's transfixed at how quick he moved when he caught it

Yeah but Spider bites Peter, Peter catches Fly ... Spiders eat flies ....do you see where Im going with this? Perhaps its just a little light humour

yep, that's exactly what I think happened. peter catches the fly in almost a trance which freaks aunt may out.

Get where your going, but I'd be suprised if they even hinted at such a thing. I'm sure its just an early example of his reflexes.

No..he won't try to eat the fly. Like others have said, its just an act of reflexes.

I assumed he was just catching it too.

But hey, I wouldn't be surprised. Look how many folks were wrong about the shoes. :D

He catches thieves just like flies. Oh, now I get it.

Well, why the hell are they on the feet?! Many times when actors are wearing tights/nothing on the feet, they have protection to help them move without feeling every little bump. That is what those look like.

I still can't believe they kept them

Haha, but do you get what I mean? At first glance? It just made me feel a bit weird. But yeah, Im sure its just a little joke. With the whole thing about the spider biting peter near the spinal cord, I just thought they're gonna make this a bit more of a SPIDER-man. Which would be insane. lol

If not, it looks like a scene from Spider-hamlet...with a spider instead of a skull...."Poor Yorick...I knew him well .... he bit me in my neck ... so now I wanna EAT HIM!!!!" lol

But seriously, can we assume the whole spider bite on the neck thing is to make us think theres some link with the spinal cord .... but why the hell is there a web coming out of his neck?

Agreed, it just takes the whole focus off the costume. Bad idea.

Hey, I like it. It's a nice little homage if you will.

Marc Webb's Peter at a college interview:

Not quite the comics.

I think that Marc Webb should definitely take note and inspiration from this clip. I think a Renfield inspired Peter Parker could be just what this series need to rejuvenate it's life-blood.

Dumbest scene in the trailer. He looks like an idiot. I hope it makes sense in the movie, but the way Andrew flails his hands looks really weird.

I know! Peter is such a cool dude, why he is acting all awkward?

The way he flails his hand is out of nervousness. He obviously has no idea what the hell he is doing and is trying to shake the feeling away. People do that, no everyone but why do you think some people shake their head when they start day-dreaming? This is the same idea.

^This is a guy who has no idea what excellent acting is.

Are you kidding? This is the best moment in the trailer BY FAR. I believe it to be when Peter figures out his spider sense involuntarily and kinda has a "What the **** just happened?" type moment. Similar to the part in SM1 when Peter looks at Flash's fist passing by in slow motion and goes, "Huh?" but only...way better.

Take note dude.

Right way to disagree...^

Any questions?

So your post was sarcastic and mine was blunt. What am I missing?

Mine was sarcastic and informative. Yours was insulting and vulgar. Although, that tactic isn't always the wrong way. It's just the wrong direction to take now.

Mine was informative. It appears you only read the first line.

Take out the first line and this is what you get:

God dammit! That's the second post I misread. :cmad:

I apologize. I'm...not on my A game today.

No worries my friend. I did come across as a bit of a jerk with my first line so I apologize as well.
