The Amazing Spider-Man Peter and the fly

I know! Peter is such a cool dude, why he is acting all awkward?

The way he flails his hand is out of nervousness. He obviously has no idea what the hell he is doing and is trying to shake the feeling away. People do that, no everyone but why do you think some people shake their head when they start day-dreaming? This is the same idea.

^This is a guy who has no idea what excellent acting is.

Are you kidding? This is the best moment in the trailer BY FAR. I believe it to be when Peter figures out his spider sense involuntarily and kinda has a "What the **** just happened?" type moment. Similar to the part in SM1 when Peter looks at Flash's fist passing by in slow motion and goes, "Huh?" but only...way better.
Agreed. That moment in the trailer displayed great acting by Garfield in a single shot.

Well, why the hell are they on the feet?! Many times when actors are wearing tights/nothing on the feet, they have protection to help them move without feeling every little bump. That is what those look like.

I still can't believe they kept them
Agreed.

When someone asked about the shoes at SDCC, Webb explained that they designed the suit the way they did to emphasize that the suit was made by a teen.

Woah wait thats a fly? How did everyone know its a fly?

Are my eyes that bad?

How come this thread turned into a shoe debate?

I've been saying this for a while.

Does it look bad? Sure it does, but the whole suit has that look that style didn't come first and foremost while a TEENAGER made it.

He catches thieves just like flies. Oh, now I get it.

LOL I thought the same thing, too, when I first saw that.

The OP brought up an interesting point. If this movie is going to make Peter more "spider" than man, is it possible that we might get Man-Spider later on in the sequels? lol I know it's a bit far fetched, but if you watched the teaser, the teaser said, "Do you have any idea of what you really are," which leads me to think that the spider bite doesn't just give him powers, but maybe mutate into one? lol Just speculating.

Hope not.

The teaser also doesn't specify whether who was talking to who.

it does seem like they are trying to gross us out a little. in raimi's movie after getting bitten peter is looking in the mirror going 'YES!' but in webbs movie after getting bitten peter is looking in the mirror and pulling out a web out out of his NECK and his face is grossed out like, 'THE HELL?! and then the classic fly scene where peter looks totally out of it.

man, I need to see this movie NOW!!

Now, Now we gotta remember this is more of a bad-@$$ spidey who is fighting the monstrous lizard, and dnt cry everytime a girl walks away from him. From the teaser peter seems to be the nonchalant not really that emotional type guy ya know? Anyway back to my original point. Different director, different story. Different Spider, different suit. :oldrazz:

I hope not. Man-Spider was always a lame story (IMO) and the Death of Gwen Stacy and Kraven's Last Hunt are two amazing dark stories worth adapting.

I think they should ditch the whole design if and when the sequel comes around. Just do the Raimi design without raised webbing and call it a day.

:lmao: sorry this made me do this so hard. His face in that scene IMO is PRICELESS.

this thread has been side tracked, but what the hey, I'll play.

I think in the movie peter is going to go to a convenience store pick up a wet suit and pick up red boot trainers and put the two together to form a spidey suit. when you see that the silver bits come with the trainers then hopefully it will make more sense why they are there.

I had always thought that if the spider kept Peter around, more of its DNA could have made Peter into the Man-Spider, imo. I mean, Connors becomes the Lizard so maybe much more DNA of the spider could've been the same reaction to Peter.

Idk, just a thought.

I just think Parker is shocked by his quick reflexes and is freaked out. You know, like any normal person would be.

It happens right as his Aunt May is confronting him about acting strange. Good stuff.

Well catching a fly is incredibly difficult so I can see how him catching it on pure reflex might throw him off.

Catching a fly isn't hard but catching it between your fingers as Peter did is damn near impossible.

Also, yes, he does catch thieves like flies but I hope to God we don't have a bunch of idiots doing their rendition of the theme tune during the movie.

^Lol. If this Spidey's a little bit of a joker, which he seems to be, it'd be awesome to hear him whistle a bit of the theme after catching a thug.

He could be like

"What? It's a catchy tune." xD

No.
