Phoenix vs Superman (In his strongest form)

Well...........

  • Phoenix

  • Superman

Results are only viewable after voting.
I voted based on which result would make for a better story. Seriously, is it more interesting to have Superman de-atomised in like a quarter second, or for him to pull off a totally bogus victory?

It comes from a discussion in another thread...

On another board, Phoenix is regarded (By many ..... ) as Marvels version of the spectre, i.e. a part of the TOAA. Scans have been posted of all the Abstracts and the Living Tribunal kneeling down b4 her. :)

This is ******ed...it's true, no one knows just what Superman Prime is capable of because few words have been written about him. Furthermore, for any of you who actually believe DC would agree to LET phoenix beat him in a storyline, you need to grow up and learn some politics. Superman is a top-tier character. He's the golden boy of DC and a hero with a monthly, on-going comic book...a few, actually. Phoenix is a villain, doesn't have her own on-going monthly series, and is certainly not a top-tier character. And by top-tier, I mean someone who is essential to the bottom line. Superman IS essential to DC's bottom line. Killing off Phoenix for good will not hurt Marvel the way it would hurt DC, if they killed off Supes for good. There is no way any Superman would be written to lose to Phoenix. It's like having Blue Beetle or Solomon Grundy take out Spiderman -- it just wouldn't happen because Marvel wouldn't allow their essential star to lose to two non-essential characters.

Those scans are taken out of context the abstracts are kneeling to the Stranger in the bottom corner and it's only what the Stranger hopes will happen.

It very interesting you should say that, as it would make a lot of sense. What book are those scans taken from ? :)

he can't beat Batman.

No one in DC can beat batman or Marvel (spidey dont count)
You do realize popularity and "greatness" of a character doesn't count in versus matches....

I know that, but batman already has plans drawn up to beatevery single super hero, or super villian he's ever encountered so im not worried

He has never encountered any Marvel's, and you're right he did have a plan...it was called OMAC (Brother I), it blew up in his face and caused Infinite Crisis....some plan, he couldn't keep two emo kids from hacking it.

hey shyt happens, but the plans did work.

No it didn't... Alexander Luthor hacked it, put Superman under Mind Control by Maxwell Lord, killed Superboy, nearly tore apart the multi-verse and Batman had to destroy Brother I....so no it totally backfired and Batman had to admit he had been a paranoid jacka$$ and told Dick he was a better man because he used trust instead of paranoia to aid him in his fight.

Perhaps you should try reading IC first and then make assumptions.

(To be fair Batman had good reason to be paranoid, the JLA had mindwipped him).

He can beat Superman because he always has a chunk of Kryptonite lying around, and he can beat heveryone else because he has plans because he knows thier weaknesses due to his study of them as you said. But how could he beat a COSMIC being that really has no weaknesses. I men batman can't just pop-up some anti-pheonix spray or something, not to mention he would have no "prep-time" or any advance info on strengths or weaknesses due to the fact that no one has ever seen her/it before.

Well he has a kryptonite ring...however in Lex Luthor Man of Steel, Batman:Hush and IC and lead up to IC that ring has proven highly ineffective...especially since Supes handed him in a$$ on all four occasions and put him in the hospital in one.

And he doesn't really know everyone else's weaknesses either, Brother I pretty much proved that....he would not need a massive spy satillite with an army of OMAC robots to hunt metas if he knew their individual weaknesses.

Also he did not manage to fight of the JLA when the mindwipped him,

Yeah luthor hacked his bat computer we know. Batman really isnt "paranoid" more like "concered" that at any time this team of super heroes can go rogue (no xmen) and destroy the multi universe. With batman being earth's last hope he had to create plans designed to take them out 1 at a time to save not only Gotham but the entire earth. Batman is a hero. In batman's line of work you cant "trust" anyone or get close. Look at how hard batman took todd's lost, or how emotionally drained he was when him and wonder woman stopped being an idle. It wears on you emotionally and batman couldnt have anything slowing down his quest on maintaining GOAT status

No he did it because the League Mindwipped him, if you have no read Infinite Crisis you have no place in telling me what was going on. There is a reason he told Earth 2 Superman "Dick was a better man than him" and then later admitted to Dick he found a better way. Creating a massive spy satillite is paranoid, Batman said so himself, that is in part why he destroyed it. Dick built his Nightwing status on trust, that was the point. He wasn't a hero in this case or he would not have had a mental breakdown and said "I wish I could start all over"

And by the way Jason Todd is not dead, he is back and Batman villian now. Joker killed him, it has nothing to do with other heroes.

By the way who is Alexander Luthor....

Hush, IC dont count so dont bring them up no more.

Yes they do they are both in continuity stories that took place under a year ago (well Hush is slightly older). IC counts bigtime since its DC's set up to all its current stories.

Ah bats has gone soft at his age

He died, "magically" he was brought back he fought batman and beat him because batman was shocked to see him. He should of remained dead. Joker killed him in a factory bats got their 2 late.

By the way who is Alexander Luthor....

I would assume a family member of lexington luthor superman's worse enemy who happens to be the weakest villian

Wrong, he is the son of Lex Luthor from an alternate Earth where Luthor is the only hero, he broke free and was a key player in Crisis on Infinite Earths...not related to the real Lex Luthor at all. Read the comics and stop assume....it makes an ass of u and me, but mostly you.

Comic book stores are closed they out of business out here. But the point is some writers dont know how to correctly right batman so some issues are either bias or really stupid concerning batman and spiderman
