Transformers Pictures Discussion Thread

quoted because it's true.

Imo Beast Wars wqas the best TF series up to date. G1 coming up second on my book. :trans:

Your damn right. I was at that age where I should have stopped watching cartoons and stuff, but that show I watch religiously. It was serious and had a great story. Specially that one episode where Unicron's head was shown approaching the planet. So so great.

I would say that the phrase 'Raping our childhoods' could be appropriate in that horrendous *****e

They know that Bulkhead is basically Rhinox. Quit trippin', *****. :o

To be fair it's an improvement over the last image we got. However, that's not saying much.

They don't make toons the way they use to :(
The show could be good, but the animation sure doesn't look right (also I will say it looks like fine animation, just not really something that meshes well with the Transformers I don't think). I think the real problem was Beast Machines, the show was really good IMO (most Transformers fans feel it was the best written and best plot of any of the TF shows), but flopped because of how radically different it was and people just weren't prepared. Therefore when the BW/BM animation company wanted to do a Car Robots series for the United States, following the abandoned Transtech line, the show execs vetoed it again. To think, all this and we could've had Transtech:csad:

With this it seems like they are following this whole Bruce Timm/anime style that has taken over Batman/Teen Titans/Ben Ten/Kim Possible etc. This hyper stylized look. Now, quiet a few of those shows are well written, but I have personally never liked that style of animation.

Man, I sure do miss the good ole cartoons of the 80's. I was watching tv with my daughter this past Saturday, and I was going through the lineup on Saturday mornings, and now its just crap. I miss the good ole Saturday morning cartoons. Hell, I even miss the after school cartoons, like Transformers, GI JOE, Thundercats (which they are making a live action movie of) HE MAN. Im dreading what its going to be like when my little girl actually gets to an age where she can understand whats going on in these cartoons. Do any of you feel the same way, about it not being nowhere near the same as it used to be?

I thought that picture was a joke when I first saw it. Is that really how all the autobots are going to look in the new cartoon? So the cartoon was inspired by Teen Titans?:whatever:

Oh believe me, I have made reserve for the fact that is could be a well writen story, however the first initial thought is its another bastardisation of a concept, almost comical by the standards of a Nic toon. It will be hard to follow a nice plot while my eyes bleed though.

I didn't know they were making a movie, but I do know they are making a sh**y new Thundercats show with animation a la The Batman and a new premise: Lio-O and his Thundercats will be a rock band of mutated humans (like the TMNT kinda) who have to fight the villainous dog Mum-Ra in their other lives as Superheroes.

Any of you remember when Wolfman Jack used to "VJ" the saturday morning cartoons here in the US? Man, those were the good ole days.

I did it for most of the UK comics.:oldrazz:

I really hope the characters will be handled well...I wonder how David Kaye will sound as a Prime.

Probably no different to Primal in BW. I might take this dicussion to the Cybertron board.

Edit: Oh wait Kaye did Megatron in BW, geez thats a flip on the arse

Damn that is a huge improvement, actually I cant wait to see some of the kit bashes thats comes out of this movie, ie someone sticking a G1 head and arm cannon on movie Megatron.

Yup...that's the guy who did the Soundwave manips...Timshinn. Dude's got skills.

I think that Anime looks pretty frigging dumb. I hope it flubs like the FF cartoon.
That's not anime. That's very much American animation.

In fact, the original Transformers cartoon resembled anime much more than that.
