Pixar's The Good Dinosaur

Heck...as a concept, a world full of talking cars isn't appealing either, but Pixar did a great job with t---*Bursts out laughing*

Sorry. Sorry. I can't say that with a straight face.

Like I said on the last page, they had the opportunity to make this a really cool concept (dinosaurs still alive in modern day) yet they SOMEHOW managed to **** it up. It was so simple. It was even in the damn logline. :csad: I'm hoping this push-back means good things

Yeah, I swear to GOD that Pixar and Bob said it took place in modern times. Not during prehistoric times..

Chill, MovieMaster, it's Jurassic Park for 3 year olds. :o

You say that as if Jurassic Park wasn't Jurassic Park for 3 year olds.

Sorry this just stuck out as I actually was 3 when seeing Jurassic Park in theaters for the first time.

Take this with a grain of salt, but it sounds amazingly accurate coming from a random dude in the message area:

Word on the street is that Bob Peterson's near completed film was "too grown-up" and didn't have enough of the little-boy appeal that Disney wanted. Bob Peterson, mind you, was responsible for much of the adult-themes in Up.

This was the same thing that happened on Brave, where Brenda Chapman's original vision was about a mother-daughter relationship -- and that was chopped up so that more of the boyish humor involving the male clan leaders could be added.

It's gotten to this point guys. Something is seriously wrong in the state of Pixar.

Lasseter...

Incredibles was pretty damn grown-up too but it still had fun.

I want to believe this commenter because it sounds too accurate to be false.

Pixar's problem is Disney. Disney has this love-hate relationship with female characters, adult themes and the best way to milk a franchise dry in the most blatant and unrepentant ways possible. If the movie is too adult, not merchandisable enough to kids they'll "fix" it.

I hope it's not true but eh I believe it. Brave was a hot mess of a movie that felt thrown together at the last minute. It's not a bad film but unlike the Oscars I thought that ParaNorman and especially Wreck-it-Ralph were better Animated films.

I can't say which I liked more. Outside of being animated (or near enough) they aren't that much alike to compare. Same with ParaNorman and Wreck-It-Ralph although altogether I'd probably say Ralph was my favorite.

Maybe it's time to change the name of this thread... :)

Hell, you saw the gripes from random people about how Wreck-It Ralph become too "girl oriented" in the second half. And while it still made money that's the issue right there.

It depends on where you are getting the gripes from. On the internet it's a echo chamber of hate over anything not about or directed them. Them being pretty much any group with something to complain about, so everyone. :D

They're obviously much more concerned with the profit margins as opposed to the product as of late. Back in the 90s basically every other animated flick they did had a female protagonist.

Sometimes these changes can be to a movie's benefit. Finding Nemo went through a lot of changes before the final product.

Did Nemo go through changes because Pixar wasn't happy with the product or was it because Disney wasn't happy with the product?

If the delay makes sure we get a great movie, then I'm okay with it.

Found on some Japanese Pixar site by Drew McWeeny. No idea if it's official or not, butt.... I hope not. Page won't let me copy and paste the article description so here's the link

Oh geez.... I hate being so overly judgmental with so little to go on, but this looks so Dreamworks.
