So far I'm not liking this plot description much at all. I WAS looking forward to this movie, but now I think I might prefer the animated flicks.
I mean, Liz getting lured away by damned Johann Strauss, the guy who's just a cloud of ectoplasm in a glass bubble? I'm so sick and tired of the Hollywood desire to always "threaten to split up the couple" in every sequel just because they don't know what the **** else to do. Stephen Sommers tore this tendency a new bunghole in interviews regarding The Mummy Returns, and whatever you may think about Sommers, he was definitely right about this - it's completely stupid that couples can't stay together in the movies and STILL have adventures and drama.
Also, not even mentioning Meyers - the man who Broom hand-picked to replace him after his death? Uh, yeah, that's... pretty much bull and isn't exactly treating the first flick with respect and all. You have to at least have him cameo, otherwise what was that all about?
The rest sounds fine, although I could do without an Abe romantic subplot.
And since Del Toro has recently indicated that he's going to use Doug Jones' actual voice in the sequel and cut David Hyde Pierce out of the proceedings entirely, well, that kinda bugs me too just for continuity reasons.
