So I'm not gonna let this bug me but it occurred to me that "our" Logan shouldn't really exist in the future.
Basically the mission was a success and therefore (alternate) Kitty never had to send Logan back in time and since she didn't have to send him back he didn't have to return to the future and see Jean and Scott alive again.
In BTTF Doc Brown still invented the time machine and Marty accidentally traveled back but in DOFP Kitty never had to send him back so he didn't have to "wake up" in the future (I suppose the alternate Marty McFly who was raised in an alternate home may have never met Doc Brown but the method of tine-travel would allow two Marty's)
Technically shouldn't "our" Logan have ceased to exist once the mission was complete and the future Logan would simply have been the future of the 70s Logan?
I suppose Logan Prime existed outside of time and it was mostly done to show Scott and Jean back again but it could potentially be a big problem.
The difference is though is that Alternate Marty still accidentally travelled back in time in the new timeline.
With this, Alternate Logan never travelled back so technically shouldn't have returned.
Ah but if they develop 70s Logan from here on out then it'll all be for nothing as at some point in 2016 he'll be overridden by the previous Logan.

He is in the same situation Marty McFly is in when he comes back from 1955 to 1985.
Marty is the only one who remembers a past that didn't happen. Marty has childhood memories of his dad being a nerd, his mom being fat and depressed and his brother and sister being boring. But none of that happened after he and Doc Brown corrected the timeline.
Marty is, like Wolverine, a person with memories that belong to a reality that doesn't exist any longer. Quite frustrating, even if the new reality is a better one.

The OP is kidding right? I mean...he' so attached with an alternate version of Wolverine that only existed for a few seconds that he wants him needlessly brought back just to confuse things?
