The Dark Knight Possible Title Change?

I really could care less.

If Superman Returns II is called Superman: The Man of Steel - this works too.

how long before the "it shouldn't have been called batman begins in the first place" argument is resurrected?

I bet that "Batman: The Dark Knight" will translate into a promotional logo that just has "The Dark Knight" plastered against a big emblazoned Batlogo.

I realise this is the WB we're talking about, but do they really think if joe-moviegoer sees the words "the dark knight" along with a giant bat logo they won't be able to put 2 & 2 together? Having "Batman" in there is extranious because, as someone said, he is the dark knight...unless, they're referring to him as the dark knight in the title......

*brain explodes*

Why the hell would you write it then?

Nothing personal, but that's exactly what I loathe about sites like IMDB. It's unsubstantiated information passed off as fact. And this is the result.

How about youdon't make up your own plot summaries for movies you haven't even read the script for and are in no way affiliated with?

Until an official synopsis is released by Warner Brothers, I don't think anyone desperately needs one bad enough for a random fan to step in and whip up some B.S. No information is better than false information.
No offence taken, but you seriously need to chill out. I whipped together a plot summary just for the hell of it. I was bored and thought "what the hell? I've got nothing better to do". Besides, my "synopsis" didn't even stay on that long. If I remember correctly, it was just over a week it stayed on before IMDB deleted it. And not everything people submitt on IMDB gets added to the specific pages.

Anyway, when the real synopsis is released, no matter would plot outline or summary is currently there, it would be quickly abandoned within the few days of its release. Look at the current outline on IMDB...that'll probably be discarded within a few days of the real synopsis' release.

Long story short: I was bored, I wrote it to kill time, it was on the site for a bit over a week, and then it disappeared.

P.S. I'm flattered that so many people like my synopsis of TDK. :yay:

I knew WB would make Nolan rename it to "Batman: The Dark Knight". It was just a matter of time.

This seems to be the most popular description of Maroni.

EDIT: Wow, now this post seems really random - I believe someone earlier in this thread asked for a scan of Maroni. If not, oh well - there ya go.

if this isnt the synopsis, why are people believing that this is the new title?

No clue. But even if they did change it (which I don't believe they have), it's not a big deal. Look at the third installment of the X-Men franchise. Actual name = X-Men : The Last Stand. Name everyone actually calls it = X-Men 3

not everything people will see the title on, is going to be a poster, with pics of batman or the bat logo, went it come outs, and they just have "the dark knight" listed on the billboard out side the theater, or in the newspapers, (when people are looking up what’s playing) you also, gonna think about word of mouth, someone just says "hey, did you hear about this new "the dark night" movie"
so, I can see where, though, it may not be the official title, I am sure we'll see it printed, with batman in front, in some places
In the world of marketing it’s always best to assume, people are dumb lol
just saying

It's not something to lose my sleep but I still prefer 'The Dark Knight' though.

It's pretty obvious people won't refer to it as "The Dark Knight" when in a normal conversation. As for newspaper clips, you're aware movie advertisements (with pictures) are always featured there, yes? And they're looking at showtimes, more likely than not they've already seen the advertisements for this film everyly.

No matter what, the general audience will always refer to it as Batman. Just like when any new 007 film comes out, people always say "that new Bond movie".

Yeah that was me lol. That's why I really don't like having the heroes name, then a colon, then they're nickname; with icons such as heroes, its not just an average ordinary nickname, their nickname is who they are. In the comics, u wouldn't see someone go "Well, if it isn't Batman: The Dark Knight", they'd go "Well if it isn't The Dark Knight." Same with Supes and the man of steel. As far as I'm concerned:

Batman:The Dark Knight is Batman:Batman as is Superman:The Man of Steel being Superman:Superman. But, after all this, calling it Batman: The Dark Knight may be the smartest choice as some people out there just don't have a clue. :oldrazz:

Why are so many of you geeking out right now? So some issue of Production Weekly wrote it as "B:TDK!" Remember, the official WB press release?

As a follow up to last year’s blockbuster Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan is set to direct Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Dark Knight, written by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer...

Unless there is some official change, RELAX! :word:

Interesting find. I personally prefer The Dark Knight but from a promotional perspective i'd understand if they changed it to Batman The Dark Knight.

Saw this a few days ago but didn't think much of it at the time - On producer Kevin De La Noy's reps site it's listed as Batman The Dark Knight.

I prefer Dark Kinght too, but Batman: The Dark Knight is still not bad. Honestly, some people might complain about the addition of 'batman' but in the end, who cares?

in the new wizard, the movie is called batman: the dark knight too

Wizard sucks, they're usually a month behind with news and nobody should be taking them seriously.

To be honest They wouldve taken a Hit financially if Batman wasnt in the title. ... I did like the dark knight better though.

I hope it's not changed becasue 'The Dark Knight' was just ubercool.

I don't care for the title 'Batman Begins' either, but the movie was great! So my biggest concern is that the movie is good.

How much do you wanna bet that in print it'll be 'Batman: The Dark Knight', whilst on posters, it'll be 'The Dark Knight' on top of the Bat-symbol?
