Obviously you don't get what she's trying to say. Posters around here don't "get banned". You will see any one of your ban victims come back with a new name day in and day out until you finally get tired of it and stop coming often, if at all. It's happened every other time and I doubt this time will be different. You can swear up and down that you're going to change this place, but it really is of no avail.

Also, you have yet to address as to why we get cracked down upon when the moderators, that would be you too, can't even control your vaunted Community section? Or rather, you just look the other way for posters who you like and those you don't, mainly being us, get the vast majority of the fallout.

What will happen? You will whine and act out until you get banned as well? I'm not trying to be a hard ass, but you all know as well as I do that you guys run around here as if the rules of the rest of the Hype do not apply. WHF's elitist attitude shows as much. All I'm asking is that you follow the rules of the Hype. If you can't do that, if you don't like the rules on Superherohype, go to Gamers Reject. Our gain will be their loss.

With an attitude like this, I hope you're familiar with that game. I'll never understand why someone wants to come in with a holier-than-thou, condescending attitude, carrying grudges, but then doesn't understand why this might offend the general population. A poster made you look like a fool before you were a mod, and now you're giving him "last warning" for an on-topic post that breaks no rules or even toes the line. That says it all, really.

If you people really wanted to do something about this forum, maybe you should take a step back from things and realize what kind of trouble this kind of crap usually stirs up in an otherwise quiet forum.

I'm more than willing to IP ban and I am more than willing to ban on a daily basis. They'll get sick of the 15 minutes it takes to create an email address long before I get sick of the whole 2 seconds it takes to press the ban button.

The thing is you guys threaten multiple accounts, that's been done before but we have several mods now that will just keep banning and banning, so why make this a fight ?

I am asking the long term posters here what exactly is your issues and concerns ? This place as i am sure you realise isn't a free for all, Community is mentioned but it has a 10 to 1 ratio compared to this place and a large turnover of very active threads, it's a lot harder to catch everything.

You guys want a bit of freedom like community has ? then don't abuse it, balance can be achieved, there is no need to be ham fisted on either side of this situation.

And so far, none of us have come close to "insubordination". Unless, of course, you consider the honest truth as insolent. You can't ban someone for merely speaking their mind about a situation, and if so only when it's followed by insults. We aren't even near treading the line yet and you're already handing out warnings. You're not going to enjoy your stay here.

The only way you're going to effectively moderate this board is if you put a worthwhile, longtime member of this board (not Jerry or any other suck-up) into the reigns. They'll have an understanding of the people here, an appreciation of games, and most importantly, and understanding of gaming culture.

i dont know guys im partial to both sides here...in some cases thing have gotten out of hand a sensible thred turned into an insult-fest, but on the other hand i dont want a gag rule in effect, free spech is still in effect right?

i dont know the history of the game threads, mostly because i stayed in the ddragonball(now anime) section, but at some point a little law and order is needed (if you ever vist the anime section its not the flame war and insult fest it used to be, that i know for a fact)

but XtromaniaK if they want to really crack down, they could ip ban people, but that's a little too draconian for me.

Exactly, I am not trying to limit free speech. I simply asked in the original post that you refrain from flaming, spamming, and other unruley behavior and yet apparently that is unacceptable for some.

That message was not threatening, nor was it said in a threatening connotation at all. You just don't understand what Zenien was getting at because you're not around this forum like we are. Regardless of this, there will be people who are banned and make another account, banned and make another, and another, and another. You can try to mark it up as insubordination all you want, but that'll only hurt you in the long run.

Not personal insults, but if say Sony's PS3 is lagging in sales, an Xbox guy is going to rub that into a Sony guy. Same as how a Nintendo guy would rub the Xbox failure rate into a Xbox guy or a Sony guy calling Nintendo's games "kiddy" (insult).

Stuff like that is completely acceptable and typical in the gaming world. The gaming press constantly fuels the "console wars" and even developers are highly outspoken.

Now, obviously you're not going to say something personal about anyone's mother because the Wii is outselling the PS3, but it's totally fine to rub salt in wounds.

no, i want an objective person, not saying zeinin's a bad choice...but someone who's kowledgeable(sp?), openminded(understand fanboys/girls), and not too attached to this part of the site would be better. its like the president giving job to all his friends, they are less likely to step in when they know he's definately in the wrong and always will agree with him. when your that attached its more likely things will more or less stay the same.

Your bridge burning skills leave me in awe. Seriously look at what you've posted, you're sitting here trying to bully people and bringing age long feuds from your hurt ego into the equation. Maybe you're vindictive enough to be as thorough as you say. Look, I know it sucks to come into a situation and feel like immediately the waters are against you, and I know it sucks to have someone be like "You're doing it wrong", and that was a a very nice first post... but everything after that has been a very needless display of brevado. You have other mods coming in here trying to smooth the water for you, does that tell you nothing.

The important thing here is that we're primarily a close-knit group of posters who have been talking to each other for years, have our own personalities and we respect each other's quirks, shortcomings and the like. The veterans here can "rib" each other to no end, but the problem comes when the newb walks in, doesn't understand what s/he's seeing to be either friendly or satirical, and then reports someone.

Now obviously it's okay to keep things to a reasonable (but not G-rated) level, but if Zenien calls me something completely awful, I really don't care because I know Zenien and in all likelihood, I was expecting her to call me whatever awful thing she may have. (Not that Zenien ever called me anything awful, just a for-instance)
