Predators - Part 1

I only cared about Royce. The only one with a semblance of a plan and I liked his no nonsense attitude.

Just watched this for the first time since I watched it in the theater opening night, forgot how much I enjoyed this film.

Same here. Definitely made up for those two terrible AvP films IMO. Loved the action. I'd like to see them make a sequel, possibly with some Aliens in there too (as long as it's the same director/producers). If they could somehow connect Aliens, Predators, Prometheus and Blade Runner in the same film... just imagine how awesome that could potentially be (gives them more of a reason to make a Prometheus sequel at that point too... which I'm craving big-time because the visuals and ideas behind the project itself were truly stunning).

this was a solid flick. added to the predator mythology. but i wanna find out what happens to adrian brody and alice braga's characters. haha

Me too. The ending to Prometheus is pretty much the same way. Maybe both pairs will eventually collide with one-another.

I hope the sequel goes back to one Predator. Or two, when one Predator keeps stalking the other Predator that is on the hunt. Seeing 3 get killed by a group, that doesn't even use proper teamwork, really makes the ultimate hunter look like a chump.

that would be pretty cool. unlikely they'll ever put those two franchises together, but cool to ponder about.
i did read somewhere they were planning to connect blade runner with alien through the prometheus sequels. don't know how true that is.

but the blade runner replicants are pretty much like the androids in alien and prometheus, but maybe more human.

We really do need a two predator movie. Have a quick prologue to show exactly why one Predator is hunting another while on the hunt in a big city or something. The big city aspect in Predator 2 was such a good idea. The only thing that brings that movie down to me is that King Willy or whatever his name was, voodoo guy and all that. They needa do another one in a big city. Set in modern day with people uploading videos of "moving light shimmers" jumping around the city and all that. Could be a pretty awesome movie. What other kind of setting could be cool? Maybe in like a South American city or something. Have a retired cop from America boozing it up down there and get swept up in the carnage. Could be a pretty cool idea

This idea has a lot of potential but at the same time, it could easily become a wasted opportunity.

While I would pay good money for a Predators sequel, I feel like the Predator/Alien/AVP have burned through public interest. After sitting through many bad films - Alien 3, Resurrection, AVP, AVPR, and the polarizing Predators-I feel like audiences just don't care.

I can't blame 'em. If I was not a junkie of the franchises, I'd would not care, especially after the sloppy writing in Prometheus.

This sucks. I'm pretty anxious for another Predator movie.

I agree. I think that Fox execs have meddled so much in the past several movies or given the worst choices jobs (bad directors, actors, writers) that it's ruined the franchise. Everything from Alien 3 through Predators has had that tainted feeling to it and though I liked Predators I can see why it failed to recoup the money it could have.

I think if anything though Predators would have got people back into the franchise, it was a good movie and did make money, it was very low-budgeted, it also made money on DVD/BD.

Yet it still seems like the studio dont want to do it, shame.

All I know is I'll be the first one in theaters for a new Predator movie. I don't really understand some of the negative reactions to Predators. I got exactly what I was expecting.

My issues with the Movie were that the Predator stopped being elegant and was basically just a hulking beast, tons of moments rehashed from the very first Predator, three "Super" Predators get slaughtered by a group of strangers who met for the first time.

It's still one of the better Predator Movies, but lacked originality and made the Predators look bad.

That's fair. The Predators could have been portrayed as smarter, and it could have been a battle of wits. Given that the last two Predator outings (the god awful AVP films) were so garbage, I was overjoyed that it wasn't more of that.

I've actually come up with a Two Predator story for a fan fiction I'm working on. I haven't started writing it yet, I just have a few select scenes worked out in my head. It's actually a Predator/Criminal Minds crossover story, but if used as a premise for a Predator(s) sequel it wouldn't have to be.

The story starts with a child's 11th birthday party. It's a Harry Potter party. All guests are dressed as characters from the books/movies, as are the birthday boy's parents. Then a Predator crashes through the window and slaughters everybody. The police call in the FBI for help, as this is actually the second birthday party massacre in as many weeks and they believe that they have a serial killer of the "family annihilator" variety. If a Criminal Minds crossover, cue the BAU. More parties are wiped out, and the newspapers dub the killer "The Party Crasher". At the last party, a second Predator arrives and tries to stop the first one. They fight, and the first Predator gets away. One of the BAU team discovers Predator #2 (in my Predator/Criminal Minds version, it's Reid), and through some creative attempts of communication he learns that Predator #2 is a sort of "Game Warden" whose job it is to make sure other Predators maintain their "Hunters' Code" (armed prey only, no children, no pregnant females). Predator #1 is a poacher, for lack of a better term. He'll kill anyone and anything. He only cares about quantity, not quality. The profilers and the Game Warden team up. They track down the Poacher and eliminate him. In a proposed movie, most of the BAU team would likely get wiped out, except maybe for one. Then the Game Warden takes the poacher's body back to his ship and takes off. If you want to be a real d**k when writing it, you could have the Game Warden turn and kill the last remaining profiler, right before he leaves.

I didn't care for this flick at all, and I adore the first two Predators. I wanted to love it...I TRIED to love it, but I just couldn't.

I'm more open to these kinds of things than most but this is utterly stupid, the original still holds up so why not just make a Predator 3 ?

Yeah the concept is pretty interesting, but it didn't really go all the way. Would really like a new Predator movie, the possibilites are endless.

Especially if they do a prequel. Why do they always seem to think that the stories have to go farther and farther into the future? History is filled with great settings for a Predator movie.

Predators in The Wild West

Predators during The American Civil War

Predators during WWII

Predators in Vietnam

Predators vs Vikings (a personal favourite of mine)

Predators in Ancient Rome

Predators vs Spartans

Predators in Feudal Japan (another favourite of mine)

The list goes on, and on, and on. The only limit is the imagination.

Predators was a big disappointment for me. I'd rather watch the AVP films.

And I don't mind Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection, either. Prometheus has probably killed the franchise.. unless they remake Alien.

I have to think for a living, so I have a soft spot in my heart for dumb action movies like Predators, Prometheus, and Alien vs Predator, where I can turn off my brain, and just enjoy the visuals, fight scenes, and monster porn.
